We have just been to Gran Canaria and hope that if you like small quiet beaches you can benefit from our experience. We were staying in the North West of the island and so explored that areas beaches most.

1 Playa de Guayedra North 28.087324, West -15.708941 A 150M long steep black sand beach with strong waves but easily swimable.

2 Playa La Caleta N 28.107824, W-15.706856 An 80 metre beach with rock pools ideal for swimming in if the sea is rough.

3 Piscina naturales Puertillo. N 28.151252, W -15.537348 Really nice safe tidal pools with cafe and showers not nudist, however the former salt pans to the East are but we didn't feel comfortable there as it seemed to be associated with gay sexual action

4 Playa de El Confital. N 28.160781, W -15.437031 The only officially segregated beach we came across with the nudist section to the North, not really worth the effort unless you are staying in Las Palmas

5 Playa de Tufia N 27.963783, W -15.381896 A small North facing sandy sheltered beach. Note:- this is the beach to the north of the village of Tufia not the one marked on google maps to the South

6 Playa Montana Arena N 27.750683, W -15.638851 A 200m stretch of dark sand with gentle wave action and a strong family feel with all ages and levels of nakedness mixed together, our favourite of the southern beaches.

7 Playa de El Puerto, Aldea N 28.009142, W -15.818711 An absolutely tiny beach we found whilst out hiking. it was so tempting even though we didn't even have towels with us we went straight in for a swim.

In general the smaller beaches seem to be very nude tolerant with all levels of clothing or otherwise acceptable.

I can vouch for this beach, it's delightful.  Pretty well all the coves in that area are nudist friendly.

I am already booked into PHN for three weeks from mid-January and in the meantime I will be comparing all those beach locations with the bus routs from San Augustin. I know that at least one of the smaller naturist beaches is reachable by bus.

Montana Arena is nice but the way down to it is very steep.  If you don't fancy that then the next beach to the East, Pasito Bea also known as Playa de las Mujeres, is much easier to get to.  It has  relaxed clothing optional atmosphere.  The parking is in an unpromising looking area with unattractive scrub and abandoned development but the beach is pretty when you reach it, a few hundred metres from the GC-500 road.
