The first time I had tried public naturism was when I was over in Tenerife on holiday celebrating my 40th birthday, I had wanted to experience a naturist beach for years but hadn't had the opportunity or the bottle! Lol.

The beach I chose was Playa de la Tejita, nr the town of Medina. Absolutely stunning beach & surroundings, highly recommended for beginners or experienced Naturists alike and have been back to this beach a number of times since.

Nothing beats that first time though does it, the experience of building up the courage of walking from my lounger to the sea, the feeling of swimming without anything on, the liberating feeling, amazing!

Love that beach. Have been many times. Have you walked round the rock to the beach at the back. Very quiet and secluded. (Nb. The town is called Medano).

Life’s too short. Do it today!

Thanks for the correction Peter, it is Medano of course, famous for its windsurfing and its wonderful beaches. I have been to that other secluded beach on the other side of the rocks, which is pretty much 100% naturist, absolutely stunning setting, the entire stretch of beach (starting from the sun loungers which is a mixture of textiles & naturists) right to the other side of Montana Roja mountain is breathtaking!

Yes, I prefer the bit beyond the rocks as I prefer smaller covers over large expanses of sand. But it was the other side of the mountain I was referring to. Good for a naked wander over there as not many people over on that side.

Life’s too short. Do it today!

Too pity it is not Medina. Medina means a city in Arabic and a country in Hebrew. I wish we had a whole city or a whole country for naturists ...

Hi! My first time (and only completely nude) at a nudist beach was when I was 16 years old during a trip to Europe. My friends and I went to Dubrovnik just for one day, there we decided to go to nearby island.  It was beautiful and we walked around, then we decided to settle on to take the sun and swim, but looking around we found all people were naked. We all look at each other and with no words, the decision was taken: we all took off our clothes. It was fun!! However in our minds and coming from traditional Mexican and catholic families, we all felt we were being naughty. I guess none of us told our parents this experience. Now, 33 years after that, the only one that knows about it is my husband. Not even my daughters 🤭

Two years ago, Hector, my husband, and I went to Zipolite beach in Mexico. This is the only official nudist beach here. We wanted to give a try to social nudism but it was not easy because most people were clothed and we felt like strangers around them. I only went topless for a short time and Hector, took all his clothes but remained seated enjoying the sea views and breeze. We look forward to new experiences but the pandemic has not allowed us 😔

@bere72 That second experience was truly unfortunate for you.

Hi ! It's been 5yrs ago when I've bee on a naturist beach my first time. I practices nudism the years before, but was hiding in the dunes because I didn't feel confident in public. First time on the naturist beach was in Fuerteventura, not highly frequented. It was a great experience, I felt free and relaxed, able to stroll on the beach enjoying sun and air on the skin. At that time I decided not to hide anymore.

My first proper experience was in the Summer of 2018 at Maspalomas! My wife and I were strolling along the beach and forgot about time just enjoying the water when we realised where we had ended up. Totally unexpected! So when in Rome, as they say! We had not brought our towels as we were just strolling, but my wife knew I wanted to experience a proper skinny dip and did a spur of the moment and stripped off. To do it is to understand it and the sheer joy of being completely naked on a terrific beach was like a drug rush. I was in pure exhilaration mode and got rather lost in the moment! After about 15 mins, I came out of the lovely warm sea and we continued our stroll to the very Southern tip as I air dried! Now when my wife plans our trips, she knows of one criteria to cater for every time! I now never want to go back to a “normal” beach again!

First time for me was not by choice. I was in the University OTC and we were at a Bridging Camp (Sappers) on Chesil Beach, Dorset in the 80's. One evening we ventured into Weymouth and the rat-bag students 'debagged' me and threw me in the harbour... after that they all stripped down on the beach and joined me in the sea. They probably didn't realise they'd all become naturists by default!

I always have trouble with threads like "What was your first time?" or "When did you become a naturist?" as I didn't suddenly become one, one day not and the next day a naturist. I sort of leaked into it gradually, by osmosis perhaps, or you could say I've always been one but didn't know. I can be more precise with this thread though, as although I had been naked on quiet "ordinary" beaches around the UK many times (usually for quite short spells) my first time on an "actual" nude beach was in 2003 on the island of Lesvos (or Lesbos). I'd been naked on quiet or remote beaches there, and one day went down to Skala Eressos and spent a happy afternoon on the nude beach there, swimming and sunbathing. I remember wandering over to take a photo of the small turtles in the river that crosses the the beach and forms the boundary between the textile and nude areas. I also recall a German guy standing on his head. Whatever floats your boat I suppose...

When I was a child, my family used to spend seaside holidays in a place where it is an unofficial naturist beach. So we could see nude people a couple of hundred meters away but no one cared of. Becoming a teenager, the peer group was more curious about and someone used to suggest a stroll, but were not so brave to do. My parents were quite relaxed but said "if nudists walk more to find a secluded place, you must respect it, or do the same". So around 15, I said OK, I'll do like them and started to go there.

A few years later when I met Lidia and had the first beach holidays together, we liked to find less crowded spots and was natural to leave all clothes, without speaking before about. So started to go to the same  beach I said before and also to look for places where being nude was tolerated or admitted.

We were closeted naturist at home and we used to talk about taking the plunge into naturism. Eventually we looked up naturist sites on the net and found one not far from us in Lincolnshire, we contacted them and booked a day visit.  We arrived in a massive down pour lol, but the weather picked up and had a fantastic day and met some lovely people who chatted to us and put us at ease.  Since then we have been to a couple of places in the UK and also had a couple of holidays at Eagle peak in Spain.  We are now members of Cambridge outdoor Club and love it there.

Life is to short, live it to the full and sod the consequences.
