I think it's also about what time of year you go.
We went to beach near salt lakes south of Torrevieja near El Salero, that was nice, then we were staying near Guardamar.
I have a look Google maps, look for isolated beaches and try.
I have been naked on the isla Tarbarca.
My partner will only be naked on quiet beaches.
Enjoy and hope the sun shines.

I've just got back from this area. The sand is amazing at all the beaches in the area, but no one was in the water at any of the beaches I visited. There were a few waves, and I wondered if people were worried about rip currents, but I think it was just that the Spanish don't consider the sea temperature in May high enough to swim in.

For me, it's all about the swimming, so that was a bit of a dampener on the trip, really.

I think I got unlucky with Los Tusales/La Marina beach as, whilst it was sunny and clear, it was too windy to be comfortably naked without a windbreak. As a result, there were only a handful of couples on the beach. This is the beach to come to if you prefer naturist to clothing optional, though, and for a decent length naked walk.

I also tried Carabassi. It felt like being on a minor English naturist beach (except with better sand) - mostly men, some women without tops, strange men in the dunes. Having said that, it was my favourite as I got to do a bit of swimming, I was always warm enough and felt totally OK being naked there.

The beach at the end of the Alicante runway at Urbanova was strange too. All the naturists were men, but there were plenty of textiles and topless women. Three swimsuited people set up right behind me and I didn't like that very much. Lots of people passing through on a beach walk - so much so that I wouldn't have been comfortable walking it naked.

I suspect it's just not warm enough yet for most of the genuine Spanish naturists yet and once it is, Carabassi and Los Tusales will be back to being naturist havens. But make sure you go in summer proper, rather than May. If I do a May holiday again, I will fly to Malaga rather than Alicante.

I quite often go to Spain in May and September. The sea in May is too cold for me (Yes I am a wimp!) but in September is much the same as my bath!

I have visited many beaches from Barcelona to Murcia. Generally a quick read of the reviews gives you some idea of what you will get. El Torn near L'Hospitalet de l'infant is my favourite (Just south of Tarragona. It is quite busy near the beach bar but quieter if you walk to either end away from the bar. I have never had any problems there and everybody seems to be real naturists.
