@the-tibetan-hat When I walk naked in winter there are times I would like to wear a top because it does help keep you warm. Likewise a hat and gloves. I agree that the public are less likely to understand motives and for this reason I do not wear just a top. However I do sometimes wear a pair of gloves and a wooly hat but I always feel uneasy if someone sees me although no one has ever said anything about me wearing just a hat and gloves when it is cold.

I've considered just wearing a T-shirt when out to stop my top half burning in the sun but agree that it does seem a bit weird and could be misconstrued. As a result, its either nothing or T-shirt and shorts.

What's it like at sherwood at the moment? is it busy with the schools breaking up. Reason being have some days owing me and tempted to head over for a walk.

I friend of mine has said she might come with me, she will not be naked though.

@barebarmey I was there this morning at about 10.30 and the place was pretty much deserted. I saw 2 or three cyclists, a young lady (dressed) who seemed to be photographing the cows, at a distance a group of 6 walkers (dressed) and that was it until heading back to the waterworks I saw a couple of naturists and exchanged a few words with them. Finally, as I came to the barrier across the cycle trail, I saw a gentleman who seemed to be puzzled by the diversion. I spoke to him and it turned out he was a naturist on his first visit and unsure whether he was in the right place. He stripped off there and then and we had a chat and a wander around together.

@barebarmey

Very quiet this afternoon. In a lengthy walk I only saw four fellow naturists and right at the very end a cyclist. Car park at the pumping station empty apart from mine and the naturist I met near the red road. Plenty of cattle in the enclosures but they were mainly lying under the trees dodging the sun. Get out there and enjoy it while you can!

I had a 5 mile naked walk this morning in Sherwood forest at about 11 am. There was no one around except for a guy with a woman and a quad bike just getting on to the reserve. I walked up to them and told them that quad bikes were not allowed and that it was illegal to use one on the reserve. He said you can't talk, referring to my nudity. I told him that there were signs up that advise that naturists may be seen in the area and told him the police were on the look out for quad bikes and there were notices up to that effect. I moved on and he moved off. It was very hot but there was a pleasant breeze and I spent a lot of time eating blackberries of which there are many at present. I was really surprised that I did not meet another naturist on such a nice day. However it was wonderful to have the place to myself.

I walked for about five miles on the Heath yesterday at about midday. I saw no other naturists, but did encounter a number of ladies walking on the paths. The first encounter was with a couple of ladies of a certain age, with whom I exchanged cheery greetings about the weather. Soon after on the same path I passed a lady probably in her 20s or 30s listening to something on her phone. Still further on the same path a lady in walking gear and backpack rose from one of the seats just as I turned a slight bend, and was walking about 10 feet ahead of me. Rather than disturb her, I hung back until I felt she was far enough ahead. She turned back once and we exchanged waves. Towards the end of my walk I met up with a couple on bikes at the point where the cycle path is closed. I had a lively chat to the lady and said hi to the bloke. In all of these encounters it was treated as unremarkable that I was naked until a male cyclist came past me and commented that I had the right idea (being naked). I covered up when I noticed a fire crew playing with their hoses at the waterworks car park. No really, it's not a euphemism, they really were playing with their hoses.

A lovely afternoon out on the common yesterday, majority naturists out of the 10 or so people I saw. One textile I bumped into asked if it was a walk for charity, in our short chat he told me he was going for the NE skinny soon, his first time doing anything like that, definitely an ally for us. Another younger guy I passed was sat in on a bench in his underpants, a bit unusual in 18C weather, I got the feeling he was maybe a nervous first timer so I asked him if he was going to 'go all the way'. He said he wanted to, but wasn't sure he could. I left him to it having suggested it was the perfect quiet afternoon to try. After that I met another naturist, his first time too. He wanted company to walk with to get up his confidence, unfortunately I really wanted a bit of 'me' time, but I bumped into him again later on so he obviously settled in.

Seems like this thing has a momentum all of its own now.
