Anybody who has been to a good number able to suggest which ones are worth trying? So far have only been to Morfa Dyffryn and Holkham. Location doesn't matter, open to travelling a bit to experience some more.

Studland...obviously. I say obviously because if you've been a outgoing committed nudie for a while and been too a beach or two already, then if you say you haven't been to Studland to a naturist they will look at you aghast and say, "What?! You haven't been to Studland?!"

Seriously though, I gather Studland is an amazing beach but I haven't been there myself...so I get the reaction above a fair bit...heh, so it's one to go down to on the south coast asap.

Personally my favorite beach is Slapton Sands near Dartmouth in south Devon. Lots of benefits...lovely 'tiny shingle' (rather than proper sand which is fine for me as I actually prefer it), only a short walk from a car park, a long stretch of beach to walk up and down, and even a bit of privacy due to a 'lip' on the beach which means folks at the back cant see folks at the front (so there's little problem with meercats at Slapton because they cant see much of anything!). Recommend a visit there too.

I think studland beach has to be one of the finest beaches in the UK. With views of old Harry rocks to your right and poole harbour and sandbanks to your left and bournemouths coastline in front , it truly is an amazing coastline. Watch Julia bradburys walks along this stretch this Friday at 8.00pm on tv. Wheen the the sun is shining on Studland it beats any of the costas hands down.

Weston Mouth [near Sidmouth] is very good but a really tricky descent

I really should have been born on a tropical island

Thanks for these suggestions.

Really liked it at Morfa Dyffryn but was a little put off by some of the men up on the dunes, a few with binoculars etc who seemed to be there for the wrong reasons. I didn't realise until looking online later that you aren't supposed to be naked in the dunes so I went for a stroll through them. I quickly returned to the beach as one man made a sexual comment to me as he walked past and I saw another who seemed to be openly playing with himself in public.

Is this generally a problem at most UK beaches? It's a bit off putting and I know my mum wouldn't like it if she decided to come along.

I am afraid that these kind of men seem to plague many naturist beaches. Whilst, they seem to be interested in other men ,rather than women, it can create an unpleasant atmoshere for everybody. I promised my wife that we would not return to Holkham beach ,due to men ,who kept popping up like meerkats in the dunes:subsequently we have walked across the beach ,but only during winter months.

It's a real shame. Anywhere else you would be arrested for doing that and it's totally unacceptable. But without anyone to enforce it I guess it will continue to happen. I realise now that by going into the dunes naked they might have assumed I was looking for something sexual and I've never had any issues on the beach but it's still quite unnerving.

My wife and I often go to Kinshaldy Beach (unofficial) in Fife. I haven't seen any sexual behaviour but you can tell some of the guys are gay cruising. When they see my wife they are either polite and say hello or quickly lose interest and ignore us completely.

You do see the odd meerkat there so we have a beach shelter and windbreaks to give us some cover when sunbathing. It is annoying when you have miles of empty space and someone sits 10 metres away to gawk at you, sometimes words have to be had.

Having said that, most people there are genuine naturists just making sure we're naturists too and pass a few friendly minutes before finding their own space. None of want us to cause problems on an unofficial beach and get the forestry commission clamping down.

Before we had children we would often simply find a deserted bit of beach or cove. If someone came along we'd turn onto our fronts and they would usually just walk on, a bare bums nothing to see. Not once did we have a problem even when occasionally people might sit quite close to us.

Living in Poole ( Now Bournemouth) I can get to Studland as often as I like. Yes there are some odd people around, but it is under the control of the National Trust, who patrol the beach and do not allow any unacceptable behaviour. I recommend it totally

The thought of dunes tends to fill us with every greater dread these days, so I couldn't agree more about Slapton, especially how the topography discourages any misbehaviour.
So far as gawpers go, it tends only to the pleasure cruise that harmlessly passes by off shore. We find it's sporting to give them a bit of a wave, all part of the fun.

If you came north, Aberlady beach in East Lothian is an option which I visited last summer. There were a few people about but mainly single males who adopted the meerkat behaviour from the dunes above the beach. I was able to find a quiet spot to lie on the beach in the sun.

I love being in my skin
