The easiest beach I have ever found is Eastney near Portsmouty.

There is a free car park and a very short footpath to the beach and as soon as you hit beach you are on the naturist beach.  It is not large but very accessable and near to the car park.

Gordon Nudeman

I agree with Gordon, short of finding somewhere where you can park by the promenade and simply walk across it and on to the beach, you won't get anything easier.

The beach is shingle with some sand near the low tide mark.

Hi well i do not get to  travel that much now,but i still say that shellness nudist beach near leysdown kent is one of the best for access,so long as your can handle the road too it.it has nice dunes and all sand with easy access from the car park,no more than 100 yds to walk, the only draw back  is there are no  toilet  facilities or catering but that does not stop anyone from going. On hot days it gets very crowded, but i love the beach as when the tide is going out you can walk for what seems miles.obviously you do  get the usual pervs and clothed pests but in the minority. If you are not sure how to get to the beach, once you arrive in leysdown keep on the town rd and keep driving as far as you can go,then the road changes to a stretch of very rough rd past a few old wooden huts up over a small hill and into  the car park ...enjoy and see you there in 2010 🙂

I agree with Rob-london, Shellness offers very easy access - you cant get closer to a beach by car. I used to go there a lot in the late 80's early 90's and it was always busy on warm weekends.
Now living in the north east my nearest beach in Ross Back sands and it involves a good half hour walk, although from what Ive seen of it so far it is worth the walk.

This problem is all too typical of most UK CO Beaches except for may be a couple of official ones.  Essentially what seems to be is simply that any beach can be regarded as CO if you have to walk 30 minutes or more to get to it. When you get older or become disabled this amounts to discrimination.

On the continent most CO beaches are far more accessible than those in the UK but even those are rarely served by nearby public transport.  Would it be too much to ask for a few beaches and even park spaces where you could go in ten minutes or less from where you park or get off the bus.

If BN effectively campaigned for this type of facility I may consider joining them.  I have wirtten to central government on this matter and the response is "It's a matter for local authorities".  Write to your local council and if you get a reply at all it is something like "We don't want that sort of thing here!"

Placing tongue in cheek before replying...

If BN effectively campaigned for this type of facility I may consider joining them.  I have wirtten to central government on this matter and the response is "It's a matter for local authorities".  Write to your local council and if you a reply at all it is sometihng "We don't that sort of thing here!"

Of course, the proactive approach would be to recognise that BN is an organisation made up of volunteers, join and then try approaching the local authorities again. This time representing the national organisation (who would, of course, have an extra member and hence carry a little more authority).

To plagiarise a well known sound-bite from President John F Kennedy's inaugural address: Ask not what BN can do for you - ask what you can do for BN.

Just thinking out loud  ::)

Have fun,

Ian.

It still seems wierd to me that many clothed Brits go to holiday destinations and accept CO situations, but wither at the thought of it happening here!!

I still think running a 'populate the beaches' campaign in a similar way to the Naked Bike Ride.

Areas like Waveney where the change of local authority legislation means that all beaches are now CO!  We should get together and promote that fact by using them in numbers.
