Train to Gt Yarmouth then local bus north passing Caister on Sea, Ormesby and on to Winterton. I can't imagine a taxi would be too outrageously priced.

This is my closest naturist spot and a beautiful part of the country. The tern sanctuary is a protected area of the beach and dunes but you can easily walk round by following signs and roped off pathways. Seals can be seen along the shoreline all year and from late October is their breeding season so there are hundreds of seal pups on the beach in the winter months. Mainly to the north of Winterton dunes closer to Horsey.

Nice pub at Horsey called The Nelson. Outdoor facilities. Also on the road between Winterton and Horsey is a fabulous cafe/tea rooms called Poppylands. WW2 themed. Take your Ration Book!  Great food.  Google it....

Cliff erosion is playing havoc around here. Indeed, the Dunes Café by the car park at Winterton has recently been demolished. It was precariously perched atop a crumbling cliff so they took the decision to leave before it got washed away! The Dunes Café is now located 10 minutes further north at Waxham Barn. As far as I could see when i was there for a walk last week the car park remains open and there's a very nice tea rooms at the Post Office and stores in Winterton village. Also a great pub called the Fishermen's Return for a good hearty meal and pint after a day on the beach. They also have accommodation.

I keep hearing about this beach, but can anyone provide travel details for those of us not driving?

Train and bus info gratefully received.

Try google maps - they give 3/4 hour by bus route 1 from Great Yarmouth.

Just looked it up on work computer (feels like I've been here 6 months but it's actually 6 hours) and seems to show about 35 minutes bus ride, so reasonable journey.

Lowestoft to Corton is about 15 minutes.

Obviously won't be going until the start of warm weather again, but would be good to try somewhere different.

I go to Corton naturist beach at least once a week in the spring & summer months. Give me a nudge if you’re thinking of going

I'd enjoy that, thanks.

My usual route from home is train from Cambridge to Norwich,  then to Lowestoft,  then a bus to the Tesco near Pleasurewood and walk from there.

That would be great!

Car parking is at the back of Pleasurewood Hills in the old Dipp Farm Pitch & Putt golf course. The golf has closed but I think it’s still signed. Follow the pathway out of the car park and cross the B1385 Corton Road,  then down a tarmac path (known locally as Tramps Alley!) To you left you may be able to see some mobile homes in the wooded area of Azure Sea holiday park. To the right is part of Gunton Woods which is mainly high, thick gorse and bushes. Walk down the path (it is quite steep!) and turn left at the beach. Naturist area is not signposted but it starts anywhere from 50m north of the end of the path you’ve just walked down.
Hope to see you there next year. Roll on summer 😀

Tramps Alley is "quite steep"?

And the prize for understatement of the year......
