I think the use of a car is just to stop people from visiting other areas where people live and spreading the virus further afield. I can't see a problem using a car to get to your local area to walk.
I can walk into the forest from my house in a matter of minutes, I purely use the car to avoid the populated parts near to the village, I see this as the best way to avoid contact with others. I drive approximately 1 1/2 miles so still local to me. The dog needs exercise as do I now work has stopped. Walking in the wilds where I meet no one is better than walking round the block, bumping into neighbours wanting a chat.
This has nothing to do with being a naturist it's a matter of keeping sane and getting exercise to stay healthy. But if your out walking then why not take off the clothes 😊
I see no problem with my actions and do not understand why the nature reserves need to be closed. There are very little people there at the best of times.
Leprechauns in Sherwood Forest? Amazing. 😀

I'm not very tall my self.
But there are few people there either.
Glorious weather again today so I went to investigate to see if the forest areas are still open. Yes, they are nothing in place and no notices to say you cant walk the area. I walked for about 7.5 miles and bumped into another naturist part way round so we walked together. There were very few people around but we passed one guy with is wife who told us it was illegal to be walking while naked. We told him otherwise but he was insistent that it was. So I just told him to ring the police and ask them. I hope he does.
For what it's worth, more than half of RSPB reserves have visitor centres of one kind or another, some have restaurants, shops, car parks etc, or the access is gated, and the closure notice is about those reserves. Nothing they can do to stop access to an open country site with public footpaths like Budby. For operational risk and security reasons they just won't be keen to point this out as it would encourage people to visit and require more management during a period they'll be struggling for staff for a while. I work for a similar outfit, and we have the same headache at the moment with some of our land.

I think it depends on the reserve. Places like Sherwood Forest or bigger, like The New Forest are large enough that it's not really an issue, especially if they have lots of entry points.
Other reserves with one single car park naturally become a crunch point for people, which just doesn't work atm. I do volunteer work for the Wildlife Trusts and know full well that some of their sites with carparks could probably have been heaving with people last weekend. Now I don't know, as not been out much.
It's the same as the national trust. Often big sites, but anything as a visitor attraction is a big no-no. The national trust has thousands of acres of land, especially coastal, with no visitor site and often they're not a massive magnet.
In confirmation of your comment about National Trust land, the marshes by my house, across a corner of which I cycle or drive (depending on the weather) to the village shop are a totally unfenced and unfenceable five square miles which are hardly ever visited by tourists in spite of being part of the UK's first area of outstanding natural beauty.

I was out again this afternoon and as you say no signs up anywhere so carried on as normal, again had a lovely peaceful walk.
As I was nearing my car I came across a couple setting up a tent, maybe they are in a relationship but live separately and the tent is there only means of spending time together, who knows? Not very warm for it tonight though. 😨
Going slightly off-topic, but as I know Gildo is probably the main man (OP - can't remember, sorry) on this thread - Gildo, we've never met but I want to wish you the very best after your cancer diagnosis, and I trust the NC community will support you as best it can.

Thank you and everyone else who has wished me well. I will let you all know how I get on when, whenever that will be, how I am getting on.

Again I wish you all the best. I enjoy your posts about walking in Sherwood Forest. I would love to be able to join you but alas I live too far away

Another lovely 9 mile naked walk today in glorious sunshine in Sherwood Forest. A couple of cyclist passed me at different times. Two vans drove slowly past me at different points on my walk as I walked along the edges of fields. I met 3 or 4 other people at various points of my walk. Everyone very friendly a very enjoyable walk. I just wish other people could join me. I was going to organise quite a few naked walks this year but presently that does not appear to be allowed.
Was busier today than normal, saw at least 6 others on adjoining paths today, and plenty of cars parked up.
I understand the police are clamping down on folks driving to destinations for their exercise, fining £60 by all accounts.
Tents still there though.
More cars are parking up in the areas where we have been parking because there is nowhere else to park as the other car parks are all closed. This means that people who don't usually use the area may be unaware that naturists may be seen. I think it is more likely that we will get some abuse for a while until the new visitors get the message that we have as much right to be there as they do. I guess it wont last long though if the police do stop people driving for a walk. I will still be able to walk to the forest and then I will have the whole place more of less to myself unless you will be able to walk there as well.
