I think that meeting so many people would do my head in. I may be see one person a fortnight. There has been a tent pitched for four full weeks. I walk by every day but only seen a glimpse of him once in the distance.
@hillwalker
I know what you mean, I don't normally see many people. It's this exercising thing, people are out there that never usually go in the forest for exercise.
Yesterday (Sunday) was totally different, I went out a bit later and didn't see anyone in the two and a half hours I was out. The last 20 minutes I was caught in the rain, it was bliss, really enjoyed it and felt rejuvenated after.
Well. I have come to the conclusion that I am mad.
It was raining all day yesterday, spent most of the day watching the rubbish on the T.V and on the lap top.
About 4 PM the dog started moaning and looking at me with those sad eyes.
I got togged up, big coat on etc. I even entered the forest from the touristy end. 5 minutes in I thought what the heck? So off came the clothes, stashed them under a tree and off I went in the pouring rain, I walked like this for about an hour. Budby Common was totally deserted, no one to be seen, it was a bit chilly and very wet but it was fantastic, I really enjoyed it. I had no intention of getting naked when I set off but!
Only down side is the long horns are back on the common, I hate them things, there's always one that looks like they have it in for me.
I have done that in the past, its impossible to keep my clothes on. I have even walked naked in the rain with an umbrella. it works very well even if it looks odd.
Don't worry about the long horn cattle, I regularly walk straight through the middle of the heard. They used to run off as I approached them but I think they have go used to me now.
Just had a lovely 4.75 mile naked walk in Sherwood Forest. Quite a few people about and parents with kids on bikes. I didn't actually meet anyone but passed by quite a few. it was only 15 degrees C and very cloudy but it was lovely to be walking again after my operation.
Great to hear that you are out and about again. Take it easy at first though please!!
Only happy when naked
Good to hear your out and about again David but do be careful.
I was out on Friday as I have been everyday for months now. It was quite busy on the common as I thought it would be, being a bank holiday. I headed through the common and out into the forest taking a quiet path through an area not frequented by the covid ramblers.
Part way down the path I heard voices and got the waft of smoke, a little further along, up on a raised bank was a group of people sat around a camp fire, I could see a young man two or three young women and hear at least two kids, the requisite staffy was there to. They were loud and appeared to be drinking. I thought why the fire? It was well in the 20's. I carried on concerned about the fire in the dry woods.
Saturday I had things to do so didn't go out till about 7 pm. It was still very warm and I set off naked from my car, seeing a couple on a bench from a distance and walking the whole length of the common. I have a new game now, dodging the Long Horns. I avoid them when I can and will climb a fence if need be to avoid them, throwing the dog over first, gently. She doesn't like them and they don't like her either, no love lost from me either.
I decided to retrace my route from the day before. As I approached the place the fire had been I could still smell smoke, surely they weren't still there, they weren't but the fire was still lit. Whether they had been there Saturday or the fire was still going from the day before I don't know. I climbed the bank to where they had been sat, there were beer cans, bottles and other rubbish strewn around. Who are these people? I doused the fire out and smothered it with soil. I would have removed the rubbish had I anything to put it in.
I'm pretty sure I have seen these people before Friday, recognising the dog, there was only one other car parked on the Friday when I returned to mine. If I can tie these people to that car I will have a good idea who these low life's are. The question is should I do anything about it?
The rest of my walk was great, quiet and solitary. I did meet a woman I see regularly and we chatted for 20 minutes or so, she unfazed by my nakedness. I carried on, returning to my car after 9 pm, still warm and deserted, one of the best walks I have had for a while.
Weather has took a turn for the worst today but I'll be out latter, probably take a bin bag and shift that rubbish too, I did see some beer cans tied to a tree on the common as well, I'll shift those too if I get that far. I hate litter. Once got into trouble in Matlock Bath a few years ago. Was behind a car on my Motor Bike, sat at the pelican crossing when some guy throws his fag packet out of his sunroof. I got off my bike and threw it straight back in. He jumped out but being Matlock Bath on a Sunday he wouldn't want to pick a fight with a bloke on a Motor Bike.

I've often felt like doing that when I lived in London and stuff came over the wall into my garden but the traffic lights had always changed by the time i got to it.
If you have the car's number on your dashcam and get a picture of the litter it might be worth forwarding the information to the appropriate authorities.

From previous posts it sounds like you or Gildo know the warden. If so it'd best to inform them. They may already know who is responsible and can act appropriately. If not then at least they're forwarned.
It also helps put you in the "responsible citizen" category rather than (or in addition to ;-)) naturist oddball in their eyes, which is not a bad thing.
I just need to see these people get into
the car I believe to be theirs. So I know for sure.
Been out today and cleared up there rubbish. Beer cans. Beer bottles. Vodka bottle. Hot dog tin. Milk carton, kids yogurt pots, remains of throw away bbq amongst other rubbish. Filled a large bin bag and took some carrying out of forest, good distance to car. What gets me it is far easier to carry these home when empty than into forest when full. And they had a push chair to make it easier.
Why travel to a beautiful place to I pressume admire it then leave all your crap behind thus spoiling its beauty which you admired in the first place. I don't get it.
Unfortunately I think the flaw in your argument is thinking they admire nature’s beauty. Such people simply regard it as somewhere to hide, assuming that because they think so little of it so does everyone else and no one else will bother them there.

Well done for clearing it up.
if you get any firm evidence about who it is. Let me know and I will report them to the warden.
Will do. I have seen them a few times when out and about and I recognise their dog. I'll keep my eyes open and try and stop myself from telling them what I think of them. As I said there was only one car parked up on the Friday so I'm pretty sure.
If I'd seen them yesterday while carrying their crap out of the forest I'm not sure what I would have done.
Different gang same spot today. It was about 6.30 as I came off the common, crossed over the cycle route and into the forest as 5 people were walking towards me, subsequently following me down the path leading to their encampment, they were laden with carrier bags. As I reached the spot there were at least three others already there with the camp fire roaring and tents set up. I walked on by, they saw me but made no comment. I returned to the car park area and the car I expected was not there, I have noted three other likely suspects and will monitor the situation.
I hate to think the mess this gang is going to leave behind them.
If you have a mobile with you next time you see them you could give Chloe the warden a ring, and of course mention that you cleared up after them the first time. Her number is 07718248953.
