@the-tibetan-hat be careful where you park his was on the Nottingham birdwatchers site today.
An unusually large amount of people out again today. What is it about a lock down that encourages people to go out more?
Managed to avoid most of them though, kept most at a distance, socially.
7 degrees and wet underfoot today, if I kept out of the wind it was enjoyable though.
@tribalbrit The number of people out during lock down is unbelievable, I usually walk mid morning or early afternoon but at present it is difficult even to find somewhere to park. I wont be out much till lock down is over. Fortunately the weather is not really conducive to walking naked anyway. It seems that more people are getting used to going out walking and I suspect it will result in more after lock down as well.
Managed an hour out yesterday, bit chilly and the remnants of Fridays snow were about in places. Loads of cars parked up at the pumping station again but I managed to avoid the crowds.
Today was 5 degrees but felt much colder, an hour was enough for me today, not as many out as yesterday, wet under foot and very slippery.
I don't intend stripping off when I leave home but as I'm out with the dog anyway, I cant resist it.
I went for a 4 mile walk this afternoon. it was only 2 degrees C so I started out with my clothes on. After a couple of miles I just couldn't help myself. I found somewhere to dump my clothes and I walked for about a mile and a half naked and it was lovely. I didn't meet anyone while naked and I was glad I didn't because I kept my hat and gloves on. They kept me warm and I could have walked much further. I don't really want to meet people at this time of year, most people don't understand why anyone would want to be naked when it is so cold. I guess it is especially difficult to understand naked but for gloves and a hat, you have to try it to know why.
@tribalbrit I know what you mean about looking silly, but at the same time people probably think we are silly walking naked this time of year anyway. I often wonder what the difference is. why should I worry about anyone thinking I am silly when it is actually quite sensible to wear hat and gloves as that is where we lose the most heat. I guess its just one of those things that takes time to get used to just like walking naked.
For safety sake I always wear a hat, gloves and good socks. Absolutely vital. I don't mind looking silly, I would rather be that than hypothermia
Just back from a naked 4 mile walk in Sherwood Forest. It was 3 degrees C and cloudy but it didn't feel too cold as there was virtually no wind and I wore my hat and gloves again. I didn't meet anyone today. It was lovely to feel the cold air against my skin but not feel cold.
I was out today too. A little warmer at 5c but hardly a breath of wind.
I managed an hour and a half on Saturday in between the rain.
Decided to give it a miss today, even I am not that mad.
Off work after the 18th so hopefully warm/dry enough for mid week walks.
Tuesday looks quite nice
Only happy when naked
Was out Saturday and Sunday, was a bit on the chilly side though but went out this afternoon and although it was only 9 degrees I found it quite comfortable walking naked. There was no wind and the rain had stopped.
There were quite a few forest workers out but I'm not sure they even saw me, I swear it was lighter later today, wishful thinking perhaps.
I find I am not quite as comfortable with being seen in the winter as I am in the warmer months. Not sure why, perhaps I'm frightened of being reported for being insane. Do others think the same?
