@simon1000 My parting shot was that there will be a lot more naturists out and about as the weather improves and as we are not able to walk in groups, there will be more instances and possibly more complaints, so they need to be prepared to educate people and tell them it is not illegal to walk without clothes.

As the weather warms up the number of "covid ramblers" increases. I have side stepped or, cheerily waved to those I couldn't, some one every day this week.

Today was a lovely day, I had been out for about a hour and half when I entered onto the large part of Budby Common. As I passed through the gate I could see someone coming towards me. As he got nearer I saw he was jogging and had a dog, a rather nasty looking dog tethered to him as he ran. I immediately restrained my dog and stepped to the side of the path we were both on. As he approached I gave him a cheery "alright mate" its how we greet people round here. He responded in the same manner, then he suddenly realised I was naked and simultaniasly tore of his hat, as if to say "I've got a skin head , I'm hard " and said "bloody hell what the F?". I replied it's ok I'm just a naturist walking my dog. " Ahh right ok" was his reply and off he went.

I couldn't help   smiling as I carried on thinking how he reacted initially, obviously threatened by my appearance but calming when the penny dropped. He needn't have been worried he was at least six foot six and built like a brick s house. Hopefully next time he encounters a naturist he wont be quite as shocked.

Glad his dog was on a lead it looked like it wanted to eat my little spaniel for supper.

Walked another half hour or so and got all the way back to my car before dressing, it was lovely evening, hopefully the sign of things to come.

@tribalbrit I am glad that turned out ok.  It is going to be warmer next week and I will probably be out. I already have plans to be walking with someone on Wednesday.

Gildo, frogs have spawned early this year. My wild life pond is full of spawn 22 Feb. Must be the sudden change in weather.

@tribalbrit Wow that is a surprise they don't usually do that until 1st March. I must get out in the forest and have a look if they have spawned. There is nothing in my pond yet.

Jan and i saw frogspawn in a pond yesterday about 200m from our house.  By the side of the Taff Trail.

I had a 3 mile naked walk in Sherwood Forest this afternoon. It was very windy and very cloudy. there weren't many people around and I didn't actually meet anybody although I saw one or two in the distance.I hoping that there may be some frogspawn around and that was the main reason for me going to have a look in the various ponds and pools in the forest. However I didn't find any today but I am going to keep an eye out now because anytime now, normally the 1st of March is when the frogs lay their frogspawn all over the place in all the little tyre tracks.

@dgildoo

And they've got plenty of tyre tracks to choose from. I was out this afternoon and walked the area to the west of route 6, where they have been logging, what a mess it is at the moment, I nearly lost my boots a couple of times. Met a lady I see regularly as I got back to where the cycle track meets the common. We chatted for about 15 minutes then I ended up walking the full length of the common in the dark. I had a fantastic walk, apart from the sludge, the temperature according to my car was 15 degrees and it felt about that too. I was out for two and half hours today and loved every second, was also nice to stop and chat to someone that didn't mind me being naked.

I know what you mean about the area to the west. I have been there and it is horrendous.

@hillwalker I was lucky enough to see a cuckoo out of the window last year and grabbed a pic - not as high quality as I'd like as it had already clocked me and opening the window would have scared it off.

At the time I was scratching my head as to what it was.  I don't think I've ever really had a proper good view of a cuckoo, and this was rather late in the season (nearly the end of July).  I assume this must have been a juvenille given the lateness of depature.

No sign of any frog spawn today and yet my pond is swimming in the stuff.

Dropped a bit chilly while out today and quite a few people out and about.

@jesse

Wow. You hear them but rarely see them. Look how well camoflaged it is against the fence.

Was out on the common today and came across a hole being dug in the ground. I did come across the hole on Friday and wondered what was going on but today it is much deeper and looks to be following a burrow of some sort. Would this be badger baiting or after young fox's I don't know.

There is a spade and torch in the hole today, which is about 4 foot deep.

I think if it's still there when I'm out tomorrow I will fill the hole in and nick the spade and torch. What do others think? Can't be anything good going on, can it?

On a side note I was looking at plans for The Forest corner and public opinion to the same and came across this on a google search.

Q1 Have you seen the Forest Corner Masterplan presentation?

27 Jul 2020 —Q3 With regard to Sherwood Forest, how would you best describe yourself? Answered: ... Because you do realise they don't have a men's team this ... Maybe have visiting traffic come from budby/ worksop rather ... Can you do something about the man who walks his dog completely nude in the forest and on.

Think I will take the credit for this one. 🤔
