@tribalbrit Don't let it put you off it has happened to me a few times. I just feel sorry for the poor inadequate ill informed people who resort to this behavior. The police are particularly interested in this sort of hate crime at present and encouraging anyone receiving it to report it to them.
Is there not safety in numbers?
Any way you guys could arrange to meet up and walk together?
More of you there is, less people are likely to be abusive
Go naked today
@chrispetchey97
Probably yes, butI like the solitude. It just winds.me up occasionally.
I am not a great believer in letting anyone get away with anything like that . I would always walk with a stout walking stick or pole.
@tribalbritYou are right it is impossible to effectively report them. some naturist walkers have started wearing a small body camera and I know of at least one person who has provided footage to the police when ne was verbally abused and they took it seriously. If evidence can be captured of individuals who are regularly abusive any evidence may be useful if things get out of hand and someone is injured.

It takes me some effort to ignore them 10 years ago I probly wouldn't have but age is not in my side these days.
Getting involved in any sort of altercation or fisticuffs is never a good idea, but keeping one’s cool maintains the moral high ground and, in the event of police involvement, saves muddying the waters of who hit/abused whom. It sounds as though the Sherwood naturists are, on the whole, winning the PR battle for public acceptance, and thanks to the post-Euros furore the abusers are, generally, the ones getting the bad publicity. Be a shame to lose all that goodwill through some misplaced defensive aggression.

Back out today. 28 degrees and deserted.
No dog though.
Visited today. Decided to park at the Severn Trent works for a change. There were two other cars when I arrived and only mine there 2 hours later. I saw three other people a long way away, all clothed, until I was walking back to my car along the Sustrans cycle path. I was within sight of the gate and decided to put my shorts on in compliance with the RSPB advice when I heard a bike behind me. It was ridden by a lady who gave me a big grin and a cheery hello, she was followed by a teenage boy and a man who called out to me that it was OK, he was the last of the cyclists. As it happened, another bunch of cyclists came up the other way and by then my shorts were on. What a wonderfully tolerant family I thought. It rounded off a terrific walk
I had a nice 16 mile naked walk this morning starting at 10 am. I must have met at least 15 people mainly cyclists on the cycle track which I waked on for about 4 miles on my way round the back of Clumber park from the Ollerton roundabout. The track from the roundabout to to budby was very overgrown and I met a young lady making her way towards the area I had just walked through so I let her know how badly overgrown it was but I don't think she realised just how bad it was. The river looked very inviting as I passed by near Robin Hoods Cave, which is no longer a cave if ever it was. and there were loads of small fish and fry in the river. Every one was very pleasant, they are more likely to understand why someone would like to be naked in temperature of 30 degrees C. I didn't cover up at any point even when crossing main roads, I got several beeps from one van driver, hoping it was in support. It has been a while since I walked this far in such high temperatures and I was definitely ready for a rest when I got home.
Was out this evening and saw the pervert dog walker on the other side of the common, decided to avoid him this time, life's to short. I then met a lady I have talked to for years with her two dogs, stopped to chat for a while, she asked me if I had seen the signs and asked if the nudists were still using the common. I raised my arms as if to say what's it look like as I stood there in nothing but my boots. No I don't mean you she replied I mean those gangs of naked men I see regularly.
Am I not a naturist then? Go figure.
Did she mean groups, or did she really mean 'gangs'?
Sorry to read about your bad experience with the cyclists, I always feel if people resort to insults and volatile language - which in my experience is NEVER to do with actual distress or fear - then I can completely disregard whatever the person is saying. Their problems or ignorance shouldn't stain our innocent, legal experiences.
Not been up on the common for a while. Looking forward to it if I can drag myself away from the coverage of the Olympics.
Had a nice 7 mile naked walk at Budby at 5 pm this evening. It was too nice to carry anything so I stashed my bag in a tree and walked without anything with me, it is a lovely feeling. I only met one young guy who was very pleasant.
