I've been getting out around 4.30 over the last few weeks to catch some of the sunshine however if it gets to hot I wait till later as it's easier for the dog.
Your right about the posters I've not seen one on any entrance for sometime now.
Can you ask the RSPB for the file to print them off yourselves to save them the bother. Another on Harassment might not be a bad idea, worded carefully to make it clear that it is not asking people to report Naturists in-particular.
@tribalbrit Perhaps the answer to a persistent photographer is to photograph back (or at least point the phone as if doing so). My guess is if it’s innocent they won’t mind, otherwise it should scare them off. Anyone tried it and what was the result?
Noli illegitimi te carborundum
Have thought of that but usually I carry nothing but a pair of shorts rolled up. If it happens again I'll have to take phone out with me.
Beautiful 2 and a half hours this evening, no one parked up when I arrived and only one other car when I left, which is known to me.
Very hot on the common and quite a few deer about, saw a couple of owls and loads of hares.
I did see one of the naturist signs over near the Swinecoat Rd layby. They are red now I nearly didn't see it and I was looking for it, may be there are more and I have overlooked them, thinking they were green.
Grand afternoon out there today, very quiet on the common, this kind of heat seems keep most people away, and I saw more naturists than textiles. Some of those naturists visiting for the first time. With it being so peaceful there was plenty of wildlife out and about, I had a very close encounter with a roe deer, the woodlarks were finally singing again, I saw a female cuckoo that looked like it may still be laying and when I sat and enjoyed the sunshine on one of the benches I noticed a solitary wasp busy catching and burying caterpillars.
While out there I bumped into the rangers, and asked about the posters, and good news, they're giving up with them and will be erecting permanent signage instead. Again, glad I'm supporter.
Having seen quite a few new faces I'm beginning to wonder how many naturists are using Sherwood now. 20? 30? More? Fewer? Unfortunately it seems to be still all men. It would be nice to think female naturists felt able to enjoy the area too, they're missing out on something so wonderful, sadly we're in a society with a culture that makes it so much more difficult for them confidently exercise they're freedoms when they're clothed never mind when they're naked.
Will probably head up tomorrow evening too.
Been out every day this week, have seen and met a couple of naturist new to me.
Sun, Mon, Tues no dog, to hot, this evening didn't set off till 8pm and it was glorious. Sun was still up but cool enough for the dog. Met and chatted to a couple of birders, one I've met before and the other older, a little grumpy perhaps but civil enough. Out spotting nut hatchers
Returned home a little after ten, it is lovely on the common at this time but the flies are a bit annoying especial in the areas near the cows. Found cause to use the technique to move the cows on of holding my arms out and saying " gew on ladies" tonight. Worked a treat, a bit to well really, they were still trotting away 5 minutes later.
Home early today, showered and out before 4.30. Two and a half hours and didn't see, hear or sense anyone else. Fantastic walking ,so quiet, did see another naturists 4 x 4 parked up as I left but no sign of him.
Have now seen 4 naturism signs.
It's official guys, the cyclist in the blue jacket is a stalker, or at the very least, weird!
Saw him early on my walk today as I nearly stepped out in front of him as I crossed over a path. He then must have gone and sat straight down on one of the benches that looks over the common as when I returned, 30 minutes later there he was. He watched me walk the full length before then again timing his ride to intercept me at one of the cattle grids, again I beat him to it, no sooner had I crossed the path and both cattle grids and he appeared, phone in hand. He then appeared to be filming me as I walked down hill away from him, A minute later a bell rang and he cycled past, this time I noticed a rear facing camera on his seat stem, he slowly peddled on.
I'm afraid next time I might be tempted to shove a stick through his front wheel and then in his head.
What can I do? can't report him, what would I say? " some cyclist keeps following me filming me?"
Other than that, had a lovely couple of hours.
Have any one else experienced this man? He must also be local, would be interesting to know where he lives and if has a partner. He might not like it if you tell him that his partner wouldn't be happy to find out he is filming naked men.
@tribalbrit I would say yes, report him, he is harassing you. It might be public land but it is no coincidence he appears so regularly, as you stated.
Smooth again, stayed hairy for as long as I could.
You could talk to him, ask him why he is filming you. You could also take a phone with you and film him and state you will report him to the police and post his picture to highlight his behavior is unacceptable - if he's doing it to you, he probably is to others as well.
