I'm quite used to walking nude in remote parts of the High Peak but there is one particular area (a forest next to a reservoir in the Goyt Valley), which I've long loved but never dared to attempt as it is very popular with dog walkers, ramblers and joggers. However, I made it "a thing to do by 72".
I achieved my ambition in May by getting up at first light and arriving at the car park before 6.00am. It was very strange being naked in a place which is usually thronging with people, but it was also thrilling. I felt super-alert  and receptive to the sights, smells and sounds of early spring in a forest next to a "lake". Unfortunately it was over all too soon as I heard barks and calls approaching, but it had been an experience I'll long remember.

Well done. Did you walk around Errwood Hall, remains of? I did a walk from a car park by the reservoir and up onto Shinning Tor, I got to Pym Chair and then cut back towards the reservoir. There's a quaint little chapel just off the path. I had an encounter there. I was sitting with a map on my lap munching an apple and a jogger suddenly came out of nowhere. He could see I was naked but gave a cheery wave and carried on.

I wasn't naked for the whole of the walk but I was for a good part, including Errwood Hall. Just before you get to Errwood from the back I found a convenient bench where I sat an sunned myself for a short while.

I was clothed by the car parks and along the road from Pyn Chair.

No, Davie, I was by the lower reservoir (Furnilee). When (and if) I am accepted as a full member I will post some photos. I do know the area you walked. Behind the remains of the hall, at the top of the hill, there is a small graveyard in a beautiful situation. Very quiet and peaceful on the busiest of days and with extensive views. Well worth finding.
I see I can attach a photo so I'll try to post one of my walk.

In the summer I find many location that are busy during the day empty early morning (4am or so), at this time its still quite warm and light and rare that you see anyone.

A few years ago a did part of the Pennine way (during the day), and thought I should be able to do quite large sections nude - but instead I was surprised by just how many people there were over quite a large part of the 15 mile part of the walk I did, I ended up only doing about a mile nude!

We walked (not nude) a small part of the Pennine way in august, started off around 08:00 and met numerous people. Wouldn't try that one nude but did other walks in swaledale area that week and never saw a soul. Going back there next June, will try a bit of nude walking for the first time  then hopefully

As it was fine today I took off to the Peaks again and walked a circular route around Gratton Moor. There was frost on the ground at the start and a chilly breeze but I did manage quite a bit of free-range naturism remembering at times that nudity mustn't trump safety and common sense.

Whilst clothed I saw five other walkers all to my mind over dressed with cagoules and scarfs. I had the minimum, a pair of shorts and a thin thermal top. Being a naturist must make a difference on how we feel, or don't feel the cold. I had no encounters whilst naked. A lovely day out

Sounds an interesting experience Davie, walking in the peaks. I do wonder what it`s like walking naked in the winter.Guess I shall just have to try it.
Not sure how my body would react!

Being naked is one of the simple joys of life.

Hi keiron
I am naked at this very moment in a nature reserve.it is really quiet so decided to strip off and stroll around the lakes here. . It is relaxing but by the same token you are also constantly looking out for other people which does take the edge of the enjoyment of being free of clothes.

The weather forecast is looking better so I'm hoping to get up to the Peaks next week - fingers crossed

We often walk naked in the wilder parts of Snowdonia and sometimes closer to home.  In fact, I am considering going out this afternoon, with just an easily removable wrap as I am long overdue getting some sun on my back.
Even when hiking clothed, we have been known to skinny-dip right by popular tracks with even our shudders going unnoticed!

We have gone for naked walks around our block on several occasions on a hot summer night in the wee early hours of the morning.  Only came across neighbors a couple of times getting in late or out with dog for walk.  Just exchanged "hi" s and kept on walking.  Comfortably cool and lots of fun!  Laura and Dave

Currently in Vancouver and find it fantastically liberal. Although wreck beach was a bit of a disappointment given at least 75 percent of those present were clothed. Found a C.O. B and Brown but won't be risking good a naked walk.

I would like to join you on a walk. There are no walks organised in the north, they all seem to be in the south. I usually go for a walk during the week so less chance of meeting anyone else who could possibly be 'alarmed or distressed'.

A good naked walk in the north east is on my list of things to do but there are limited opportunities.

If anyone knows of any do let me know.

We are a happily married family couple with lots of things going on in our lives. We both enjoy naturism but my wife likes the temperatures to be more comfortable than me which restricts UK action
