Nervously stepping out

Today I went on my first long walk without clothes. On an 8 mile route I managed to do about 5 or 6 miles naked. The rest needed clothes because of nettles, villages and farms.

I met only one other person, a dog walker, and pulled on a pair of shorts before (I think) he saw me. I didn’t have the confidence to walk past him naked. He appeared bemused by my being shirtless at 6:30am but we exchanged good mornings and carried on our respective ways.

It was nice to feel the air on my body and unencumbered with clothes, however, for most of the time I felt too anxious to fully relax. The best moments where when I forgot I was naked but most of the time I felt that I needed to be on the alert for other people.

I feel happy that I’ve done it but, because walking helps me unwind and this wasn’t a relaxing experience I will probably wait a while before repeating it.

Any words of advice or encouragement would be much appreciated.

My first post btw  🙂

I don't get the idea that you have to prove yourself. You seem proud that you presented yourself naked in front of another human being. Having said that, well done old bean, and the next time you will probably forget that you are naked. I can't believe how far I have grown in such a short space of time. I was ridiculed by my peers at school for my size, but now I have been naked on three beaches on Fuerteventura, two in New Zealand, I spent a weekend at Lakeside and have another booked.  I think I've been bitten by the bug. So will you. Do it, don't overthink it.

HB.Great  that you have given naked hiking a go,the more you do it the more relaxed you will get ,just carry on doing what your doing ,the warm weather helps.I do understand the early morning thing as there are far less people about,on the other hand I think it's easier for none naturists to accept us if they see us on a nice afternoon, keep up the good work.

the more often you go the more relaxed youll get.  often during the working day is a good time as a lot of the early morning dog walkers have gone to work.

I'm fortunate enough to have changed jobs recently into education and work term time.

So I now get some time when most people are at work.

Have been on two local walks this week. I too get the nerves as I wouldn't want to upset anyone but it's so addictive I just want to be out hiking naked every day. 🙂

If you're a couple in the Midlands and are under 50...say hi.

The problem with free-range walking is once you start you never want to stop. Err... is that a problem? No

I like going for walks on my own for the same experience you (Humanbeing) described - that you are o "on the alert". The fact that you are looking out for other people becomes a bit of an aside, because the heightened awareness makes the whole thing more enjoyable - and addictive.
On the other hand, I have found it much more relaxing and enjoyable to go hiking with an organized group - it gives you more chance to enjoy nature and the environment. It's also quite a stimulating social experience, if there are more than half a dozen people.
Check out the Naturist Ramblers page on Facebook, and other organizations that connect people together for rambling.

Well done HB!
I have done three naked walks earlier this year (nude times, 1hr, ½hr and the last one 2hrs. Haven't been out for a few months but have itchy feet remembering about the frisson I got especially after the third walk.
Hope you manage to get out again soon! 🙂

I often walk naked on local secluded footpaths.  Really want to take the plunge to walking on the lanes though.  Still a bit apprehensive of getting seen!

I was out and about on the hills and  saw a lad with a dog in the distance.  We were on the same track,  nowhere to divert,  so just carried on,  petted his dog and said that it was too hot to walk with clothes on,  smiled and walked on.

Agree with most on here the more you get out the better and more confident you will become, I'm getting to the stage now where I can't wait for my next walk and am seeking out new areas to enjoy my walks...

Thanks for all your responses. It’s heartening to know I’m not the only nervous one out there.
I’m a fairly private person and I know I’ll be more comfortable keeping to out of the way places. I have some great routes mapped out around the fields where there’s a very low likelihood of meeting anyone.
I’ll be out tomorrow and looking forward to about five naked miles  🙂

Thanks Peter. I had a great walk this morning exploring new countryside without any risk of bumping into anyone. Out of the 7 miles I walked, about 5 were done naked. Really relaxing 😎
