Not bothering what other people think or how you feel about being naked in company of strangers is a big hurdle to overcome. A walk, albeit slightly nervous one, can only help to overcome this hurdle.
Well done.

Well done on your walk HB, yes it can be nervewracking experience, I attempted it myself a couple of weeks ago when I was staying away on business and shed all my clothes when I thought I was alone, but I had never moved so fast when I heard someone nearby.

I'm fairly new to naturism too so not ready for any confrontation yet, but the benefits and the feeling of being naked far outweigh the downsides I'm sure you will get used to it and I hope you enjoy further naked walks.

Beautiful day for walking today. I’ve extended my naked walking route and it would have been perfect but for the hot air balloons that seemed to be following me 😂 Still a few hours out and about without clothes was great.

I’m afraid I still nervously step out when I go out for a naked ramble on my own.
I’m constantly checking for people before I strip off, and as soon as I’m naked I’m surveying the horizon for people, and looking over my shoulder to see who might be behind me.  It’s strange feeling of anxiety that I’ve never been able to shake off, in all the years I’ve been a naked rambler.  Thankfully that insecurity soon disappears after the first half a mile or so, and then I start to enjoy my walk.
I still feel a little awkward or embarrassed when I meet someone, I think it has something to do with the thought that a naked male, on his own is possibly up to no good.

When Louise and I go for a naked ramble I don’t have those worrying feelings of anxiety, and I feel confident and at ease with her.  I can see Louise is confident with me by the way she acts, in fact I think she’s a bit to confident, or should I say a little risqué sometimes.
Louise has told me that she would never go for a naked ramble on her own. In her words, “To scary”.

Again that awkward embarrassment I get when meeting people doesn’t exist when I’m with Louise.  Strange isn’t it.  I suppose it’s the old saying, Safety in Numbers.

There’s Something Therapeutic About Being Naked

The fact there are two of you together, particularly male and female, gives the message that it’s OK. One person might be viewed as a weirdo, but if there’s someone with you they have endorsed what you’re doing so gives the encountered textile pause before thinking it’s wrong. It’s subtle messaging, to the point if being subliminal, but as you say having another person with you removes the insecurity, it legitimises what you’re doin* because you’re not alone in it.

That’s exactly how I feel. When I’m confident there’s no one around, that’s when I enjoy it but the slightest indication that someone’s around and I have to put my shorts on. I’ve never been able to ramble with someone else... I’m not shy of joining a naked group hike, but generally I’m not great at joining in with groups clothed or otherwise.

Hi Human Being and Peter Charles. I am in Bletchley and work in Dunstable. I frequently go for naked walks, with a group on the rare occasion that I have time off but more often on my own. I have never felt great about joining groups either but I have been made so welcome on group walks that I am begining to feel more confident in joining in with others - naked or not. I would be very happy to join you both for an evening strole in the very near future - I can get away from work by 4pm if I need to.

Only happy when naked

Well that’s it. Unless the weather improves, today was my last naked ramble of 2019.

I’m so glad I have discovered this activity as it just makes me feel happy to be alive. I’ve found out what’s comfortable for me and what’s not. I know I like rambling naked alone and early in the morning. There’s so much wildlife about and it really sets me up for the week ahead.

I’ll carry on with my early morning rambles but will stay clothed until the weather improves. Roll on 2020 with warmer weather and early dawns.

Each to their own, but the weather forecast is nowhere near bad enough for me to stop walking. Get a good pace on and even icy wind and a bit of sleet can be a bracing addition to exercise. Standing still isn’t such a good idea though ...

I walk the hills naked in all weathers as long as the temperature does not fall below minus 2c. Much below that then the skin starts to freeze.  The joy of all year walking is that there are fewer textiles around and wildlife easier to see.  Try it and see.

7 miles at 6 centigrade was enough for me even at pace. My fingers etc were painful. I’m praying for a warm spell.

Hi Human Being.

You will find that walking nude with a hat and gloves on is fine.  I have started wearing gloves last Friday.  Skin starts to freeze at minus 4c so i am happy to walk naked down to minus 2c (including wind chill)

I find that when I walk naked in cold weather I'm OK if there's little wind and my head, feet and hands are warm. Walking naked  but wearing gloves seems strange but I know others do the same

I also wear gloves when it is really cold and it is amazing how much warmer my whole body feels with them on.
