Hmmm, the consensus seems to be that we don’t cover up round the elderly to protect them but to protect us!!

- we have a long way to go in changing people's attitudes to nudity I can't believe there are still people like this.

The world is full of people with very different likes and dislikes so I think there will always be people that don't like nudity. I think society as a whole is definitely more accepting of public nudity than it was when I was growing up in the 60s and 70s.  I suppose covering up for someone who isn't comfortable with nudity is only fair.  We expect people to respect our right to be naked in public.  It's only fair that we respect their rights not to be shocked and embarrassed when out in public.

This is rejoining the discussion that keeps on giving - whose rights trumps whose? The right to not be offended by nudity, or the right to not be offended by having to cover up. Does anyone have the “right” to not be offended? If I am doing something legal is that offensive? If you call me rude names because of my legal activities is that not offensive? If we can be tolerant of them and their sensitivities, why can’t they be tolerant of us and ours?

is a definite cover up, which is an arm across her boobs, a hand or hat over her lower bits.

I love this. "I'm not naked. honest! I always walk round with one hand here and a hat there".....

As if the people will genuinely pass by and go "thank goodness she wasn't naked. from a distance it looked like she was"

Boundaries are there to be stretched!

The million $ questions.  For me covering up for someone is an inconvenience.  I know some who find the sight of a naked man distressing and disgusting.  Should I subject them to that for the sake of just avoiding a bit of an inconvenience for me?

If we have visitors at home, I usually get dressed.  Not because I'm ashamed but because I don't want to cause offense.

In the 40 plus years I have been a naturist I have not had one family who has been to our home who have been offended or put it this way it has not stopped them coming round or just the children on their own to play with ours.
