I have had a go at combining dates from Steve's website, the BBC and some newspapers and made this:

http://www.nib-kit.co.uk/steve_gough_00.html

There is least detail there about the most recent and more serious cases.

Cheers,
nib

I have a load of history from Bob Janes, who was the H&E staff writer who followed SG's case. I'm currently going through it and will cross check against nibs timeline. Give me a couple of days.

Have fun,

Ian.

...Me thinks thou doest protest too much! I cast the line and the bait was taken.

'tis me job melord.  ;D
I felt your unease with the word stupid and so made you develop your thoughts further. The mind is my weapon of choice! Stupid is very much an opinion and what is stupid to one is not stupid to another. I am undecided if Steve is stupid and the watch-this-space scenario applies. I am, perhaps, stupid because I am a freerange rambler which to most people is downright bonkers  😕 To me those who do not love the freedom of the open countryside are stupid (depends which side of the fence one parks one's bum!). Perhaps stupid is someone who does not agree with you?  😛

I run the constant risk of my activities being seen as likely to harass, alarm or disturb and I await my time in court if my time should come. My actions would be different to Steve's but along the same principles.

We are just not understood by the textile society  :'(
PS: I hope you have a local teacher for your yoga but if not I am available to travel to Birmingham (monthly if needed) for a weekend (but cannot do a weekly class) if you make it worth my while. I have given a link to a resume of my yoga teaching in the yoga thread and you will see it is yoga for all (just like the BN policy statement).

I think the following quote from this post of mine is relevant here:
It is therefore my contention that, out of common courtesy, the small proportion of people who find nudity objectionable should stay away from the even smaller proportion of locations where nudity is to be found.
After all, naturists do continue to avoid the overwhelming majority of beaches.

With the greatest of respect  [smiley=angelwings.gif] do hurry up. The stress of awaiting the definitive 'Gospel of Steve' is as frustrating as wiggling your penis at Brutus. [smiley=ninja.gif]

That makes a lot of us stupid as many of us love a bit of free range naturism.

I'd like to think that even though I may not always agree with you that does not make me think of you as stupid. I refer back to my post on respect. I'd be stupid to think like that! Are we starting to go round in circles now?

You are right in saying we are not understood. Perhaps one difference is Steve believes in changing public perceptions by revolution and many others by more evolutionary processes.

Try to keep out of court, it's a long way to have to go to Taunton to bail you out!

Davie  😎

PS Thanks for the yoga comment. It's still early days for us yet.

Thank you for posting the two links. One serious and the other???!!!

The former post is very thought provoking and deserves airing on this and other naturist sites.

Network away. Do not leave it all to me. I often cross post but feel here (naturists corner) is my spiritual home.

Maybe a bit off-topic, but I bumped into an old primary school friend in our village who used to be Steve Gough's girl friend. She didn't mind his nudity at all. What she did mind was his laziness! Takes all sorts, I suppose...

Ah there's the truth then - he's only refusing to get dressed because he can't be bothered 🙂
