Not me I am in fuertuventura. But why are they looking for someone if they were only out walking.

Who knows what these people tell the police when reporting a naturist.
I'm pleased to say the post on Edwinstowe past and present has been removed.
I will say however the comments posted other than the original one, on the whole were quite encouraging.
Seems quite a few people are used to seeing naked people in Sherwood Forest and most seem to be unfazed by it. 
The odd churlish joke but that's the norm I suppose.

Some ignoramus has posted on Edwinstowe past and present that she has reported a Naked guy walking the forest today.
She has alerted the Police and they are apparently out looking for him as I type.

Makes my blood boil how ignorant some people are, the comments added are mixed though, just a heads up if you were out there today.

This would have been me.

I enjoyed a 12 mile walk around the area, stayed away from the Major Oak.
Near the end of my walk, after seeing 15+ other people who had no problems or enjoyed a little giggle, I approached one of the cross roads and was looking at my phone. Looked up and saw a couple.
I noticed immediately that the lady felt uncomfortable and unfortunately she was too far away to hear clearly but I heard something similar to “No, I can’t do this”. Due to this, I turned around straight away and went the longer way around.
I noticed they continued to walk forward towards the crossroads. I turned my head back twice (I made even more distance at this point) and saw they were still looking at me at both times.

I believe it would have been this couple that reported me.

So annoying people are like this in this day and age. I wasn’t committing a crime, I wasn’t touching myself and I was very understanding when I saw her discomfort by going another direction.

This will not stop me enjoying this area and hope it doesn’t stop others too.

I understand and fully support free-range walking and do so myself. I intend to be in the Peak District on Friday but I also understand that many people are so conditioned not to see simple nudity as normal. Its rare to see someone naked out and about. I've never seen anyone else whilst out walking, except in the same group as me. They think it must be wrong having heard about "indecent exposure." For some the most nudity they experience is the shower to the towel.

People may genuinely think the naturist has a mental health problem particularly in the winter when its much colder than most could stand with just shorts on. I got a load of comments when I was stripped down to shorts and a light top when everyone else was in cagoules and full outdoor gear.

Some reporting seeing a naked person will genuinely think they are acting as good citizens. Lets not condone their attitude but we need to understand it.

Most of this winter has been between +2c through to -2c. I have had a number of jokey comments about being mad to be out naked in the cold. None of the comments were negative.

thanks for letting us know what happened. It looks as if you weren’t doing anything wrong and the police would take no action if they had found you. I need to have information like this so I can defend against anyone trying to cause problems for us. I would like to go for a walk  with you and show you the quieter areas where it is less likely for you to encounter problems like this.

I too walk the quieter areas of Sherwood and can go many miles without seeing a soul, on the few occasions that I have met someone I've not had any negative feed back, some just totally ignore me and others pass the time of day
I just thought I'd post this in case someone needed to know. The initial Facebook post was quite cutting. As said though the general replies weren't to bad.

I'm all for naked hiking, but -2c?? Some real love for naturism right there! Not trying to stir things up, but just wondering if it's actually enjoyable with that weather, seems that those are the cases where clothes are indeed handy!

I did a 4 hour walk with Hillwalker just before last Xmas. There was frost on the ground and it was O degrees on the car temperature display when I parked. Puddles were frozen, there was frost on the ground but the sky was blue and the sun was shining. I did think this was going to be cold and wondered how long I'd last nude but had to give it a go.

We walked for about a mile before undressing and for the first couple of minutes it was cold but the steady walk kept us warm and the sun on our bodies was great. Fantastic being nude in the hills in the middle of winter, something I'd never done before.

We walked nude for around the next 3 hours before we had to dress for the final leg to the car park and I really didn't want the walk to be over I was enjoying it so much. The only time I felt cold during the walk was when we stopped for a quick cuppa. Other than that, the steady pace get us fine and I can't wait to do it again, it's just getting the time off work.

There's much on here that aims thinly veiled criticism of the Police around their approach, but the issue lies with the general public view of nudity. Like it or not, we naturists are in a very, very small minority of the general public and our views do not chime with the huge majority. Some of those see nudity as threatening in and of itself as it sits so far ourside their frame of reference. That's where the real issue lies sadly.

I take your point about sub zero enjoyment. To be honest, the body does get used to it very quickly. Much lower than minus 2c you are getting into the dangerous territory. As Rob said, keep active and you keep warm.

Agreed that it isnt for everybody but you know that walking in those temperatures you arent going to stumble across many people.

Thank you Rob, Hillwalker. Glad to know you enjoy it! As for myself, I think I wouldn't even feel like doing it in sub 18C weather, let alone in winter  ;D I'm looking forward to our time in southern Spain where we hope the weather is good enough to try out some nude walks for us coldphobics.

Re temperature - most people are surprised since they go out fully covered except for hands and face - so their hands and face are typically 20'C different so they feel the cold. Take off all your clothes and you feel the same temperature over all your body so it doesn't feel so cold - add in the warmth from direct sun and you can feel quite hot - add in a cold wind (grab the clothes).
