I've never had a problem with dogs...it's their owners who are the problem. Your crown jewels might not have been so much at risk if whoever owned it had taken a bit more care or were they still getting over the shock of seeing you naked.

If the dog had had a go at me it wouldn't have got any crown jewels...more a case of trinkets! ;D

I often go walking with my dog - both of us naked, and if no one is about (or sheep etc) then he is not on a lead. If someone appears my main concern is to grab the dog rather than covering up - not that he (the dog)  is aggressive, but with some other dogs he can be depending on how they react. Naturally if you are  chasing dogs you don't have time to cover up. This is also true at home if someone appears whilst in the garden. So far no issues out and about or at home.

I've never encountered someone else walking naked as I expect non of us have, so my dog has never been anything bu nice to people - just other dogs concern him.

There was no shock at seeing me naked it was a total couldn't care less attitude, didn't even apologise for what had happened. If it had caused me some damage though I would have called the police.

Might have been a bit tricky to explain to the police the circumstances whereby the dog managed to get your "parts" in its mouth.

My girlfriend and I have begun to not cover up when in more remote places. The response has been a good, so far. It is much more liberating that stealth and covering up. People generally don't care. That BN survey tells us that your islands people are nearly all tolerant.

My online collection of responses for regular nude hikers in the USA tells me that fewer that 5% will react negatively and these are often people with the mistaken belief that they are protecting their children. We cover up genitals or sit down when there are children to avoid hassles. There seem to be approximately 20% that are uncomfortable, not knowing how to react to the new situation, but soon relax, if you act relaxed, too. These are often just considerate people who's knee jerk response is to protect our privacy.

The last copy of "N" magazine, The Naturist Society's mag, had an article written by a couple who have encountered hundreds of people with no adversity on trails. They caution to just act like you are oblivious to the fact that there is anything unusual about how you are not dressed and they take your lead.

There are serious laws in many states that can hold strong consequences if complaint leads to arrest. We are keeping to the more moderately populated  and remote areas to practice this liberation. We live in sunny Arizona.

No problem at all, I would have told them I was walking naked on a public footpath in a forest when a dog off a lead attacked me. it is the job of the police to serve and protect and apply the law, not to make judgements on a persons state of dress.

On what do you base your thinking the police would take action..there is a big difference between what they should do and what the actually do.

because I have spent 3 years talking to them and educating them about naturism and the law. When you explain what it all means they soon get it and have to admit they are there to support everyone who is not breaking the law. They have it in writing all the way to the chief constable as well so they cant claim ignorance. Also the law pertaining to dogs has been beefed up and although many owners don't realise it they have to be much more careful and be able to control dogs or keep them on a lead.
Why don't you try talking to the police, I have encouraged a few people to do just that and they have been pleasantly surprised at how well they have been received.

Good to hear that you are campaigning to educate the boys in blue.

Unlike a regular naturist walker like yourself, I only go out for the occasional wander myself so I have not found it necessary to engage with the local constabulary and to be honest I am not sure I would be as brave as you to do that.

At ten o clock this morning it was 4 degrees C but the sun was shining and as usual I had the irresistible urge to get out for a naked walk. I thought it might be too cold, but there is only one way to find out. Get out there and give it a go.
I took off my vest and wrap as soon as I go out of my car. It felt good despite the temperature. I walked for about 5 minutes before meeting a guy with binoculars intently scanning the heathland. He didn’t see me till I was almost next to him so I said hello before I go too close and asked him if he had seen anything. He was watching a yellow hammer but started to talk to me. He didn’t appear surprised that I was naked and didn’t mention it.
We stood and talked for about 20 minutes. The sun was on my back and I was surprised how warm it was while standing and chatting (I usually get a move on when it’s cold). As we chatted he started to ask if there were benefits to being out naked in the cold and did it mean I felt warmer when not outside, and do I catch colds less frequently. After we had chatted for a while he said he could see the benefits and wished he could do it especially as he was susceptible to the cold. He told me that he had seen me in the past in the distance and he thought it was great what I do and added there is certainly nothing wrong with it. We stood and looked for a while over the common which was bathed in sunlight with the silver birches shining through the woodland in front of us and shared the glory of the morning in front of us without another soul in sight. I bid him goodbye and continued in the knowledge that I had made another acquaintance who if asked by others if he had seen someone naked in the forest would most likely speak positively. Another ally who would help normalise naturism on my behalf. A little while later a tractor driver passed me with a trailer full of logs, he gave me a wave and a smile as he passed me by. It was a glorious day and at no time did I feel cold, it is really invigoration and life affirming to be naked in low temperatures when you are used to it. I walked for just over six miles and only saw one other couple who smiled and said hello as I passed them by until I was almost back to my car. In front of me was the tractor and trailer I had seen earlier, a van and a Landover. I walked round the other side of them and there was Chloe the ranger and two guys, I walked over to them and chatted for a while before getting into my car naked and driving home. What a lovely morning, it doesn’t matter how often I do it in never tire of it. I am so lucky.

Envy you that you don't seem to feel the cold...bit of a reptile myself. Takes a while to warm up and stay warm. I suppose you must be used to it by now but presumably it must have come as a bit of shock the first time you decided to go naked in the cold weather.

No it never was a shock because I walk naked regularly and as the weather changes my body just adapts. Its the same in the summer when it is 30 degrees C while walking naked in the mountains in Spain. I can walk naked in it all day with only half a litre of water. Our bodies have evolved over thousands of years to cope with various circumstances. We are just losing the ability use what we have because we don't use them any more. The old saying use it or lose it is very true.

Hi Gildo, I've read the entirety of this string today and have to salute you and your approach to naked walking. I've been thinking quite a bit recently on the whether or not to cover-up question and have been really impressed by how you treat the question. I'm inclined to do exactly as you have done but only fear that, if I do encounter unpleasantness from anyone, it will put me off as, like all reasonable people,  I hate to upset anybody else. However, walking in cold temperatures must take some getting used to ! I opened the door after dark yesterday and couldn't face a little wander around our garden !

I know what you mean Bearsdenfella...I always sleep naked so when I got up this morning I thought I'd nip out and see how long I could stand outside on my frost covered lawn. I got to the door, opened it, got a blast of freezing air and decided I'd try it another day.
