When i let the dogs out in the morning i like to stand in the breeze for a short while & it gets chilly quite quickly, but if a take short stroll round the garden i warm up quite soon. I imagine a brisk walk keep you comfortably warm.
Well you are braver than me Russ...I just can't take that 1st step. Perhaps I need to do it gradually. Stand at the door for a bit longer each time before finally taking the plunge.

Its the wind that gets me. On a still day in the winter I can go some distance but once the wind gets up its clothes on, especially in hilly and exposed countryside. Nudity mustn't trump common sense, hypothermia can kill and its a condition that can creep up on a person without them realising. If walking solo you have to be especially vigilant and be prepared to admit you need clothes and warmth sooner rather than later.

I would be interested to hear whether you have a technique for staying warm enough at 6 C to be comfortable, or are you perhaps insensitive to the cold. Do you have to exert yourself significantly and experience chilling when stopping to talk to people? I have read about the claims of Wim Hof in relation to feeling comfortable when cold, and would love to be able to do the same.

I think it something that you just get used to over time. As the weather gets cooler I just continue walking but I am able to get out 3 to 5 times a week. Also I find as the temperature drops I automatically start walking faster, I have a garmin that logs all of my walks and records the temperature. I can clearly see the increase in speed as it gets colder although I am not consciously walking faster. My body seems to walk me at the speed it needs to generate enough heat for me not to feel cold. In temperatures around 6 degrees C I tend to average a minimum of 4 mph and often walk at up to 5mph at times. At these temperatures I find I can walk for about 3 hours but after that my hands and nose start to get very cold so I don't normally do more than that at those temperatures. I also live naked while at home and often spend some time in the garden no matter how cold it is, even helping the grandchildren make snowmen while naked without even wearing anything on my feet. When I go to naturist swims I can stand under the ice bucket or in cold showers without flinching unlike many who squeal or shout.
But because I know the cold wont hurt me I am not afraid of it, I embrace it so I think it is a body and mind thing. If you can get used to it you will probably find as I do it enhances the feeling I get being naked just like the sunshine does but in an entirely different and exhilarating way. Its probably one of those thing that you really have to want to do to be able to do it.
I am really glad I can and I also believe rightly or wrongly that being used to the cold allows my body to go into winter mode and bumps my immune system up to help prevent me getting colds.
Just so you know I haven't always been like this, years ago I was just like most other people never dreaming I could do it and I used to squeal when I got under the ice bucked. So if you want it you go to go for it, just like everything else in life, you don't get anything for nothing.
Had a lovely 5 mile naked walk in Sherwood Forest today, only saw a couple of people.Temperature 4 degrees C but virtually no wind and some sunshine so it felt very nice. Just as I got back to the car I saw a woman also going to her car so I put my wrap on. When we met she said were you walking naked earlier, I saw you in the distance. I told her I was and that I always walk naked and I asked her how she would have felt if we had met while I was naked. Oh I wouldn't have minded at all she said.

Great to know there are some sensible people out there. 🙂 🙂

You might be surprised at just how many there are, I meet hundreds of people while out walking each year and it is very rare to meet anyone who objects.
I managed a couple of hours on Christmas Eve in Sherwood Forest, didn't see a soul.
Might make it an annual tradition what do you think?
I've been up to the Peak District today. It was far too cold with a biting raw wind. Lots of layers and once dressed and with seriously muddy boots it would have been far too much of a bother to strip off. One of those days were being dressed wad the better and sensible option. Shame

I know what you mean Davie but I have decided that the exhilaration of being outdoors in cold weather probably outweighs the discomfort so I have decided to work up to it gradually.
So today I started with getting acclimatised to the idea. I kept a top on but apart from a pair of willies all my nether regions were naked and I ventured outside in the backyard for 20 minutes.
As luck would have it, it started to snow and the only reason I came in was because my top was getting wet!
More practice tomorrow.

You appear to be doubly blessed!
If I could I would but hypothermia kills. Nudity should never trump safety on the hills. On high moorland with driving sleet and a biting wind I'll stay dressed and hope for better naturist friendly weather soon. From seeing other people walking even if I'm dressed I wear far less than most

I went out for a walk in south Staffs this afternoon. It was clear and bright but once again there was a biting cold wind. Nevertheless I did manage to walk naked for a short distance. It was wonderful and once dressed again I felt my skin tingling. I really felt alive and once again realised why I am a naturist.

I went out today for a 5 mile walk, had more wool on me than an angora goat and was still cold, I'll wait until the sun comes out. 😉
