I have noticed several times that the sun comes out as you cross the Loire going South.

lol
- although this depends. In my part of France (the South-East) we say that as you drive down the Rhône Valley the weather changes from "Continental" to "Mediterranean" around Montélimar.
On the parking area on motorway A7 at Savasse just north of Montélimar there is a huge carving called "La Porte du Soleil", the sun's gateway. The monument is not very convincing (it is part of a number of huge and often baffling monuments to be found on the French motorways, sometimes referred to globally in a derogatory way "motorway art"), but the hint about the weather turns out quite ofen to be right: for us, the South begins there. After all this is not very far from the 45th Parallel, half way between the Equator and the Noth Pole.

We agree, once we'd moved further down it turned very nice weather-wise. We actually love your 'motorway art'...as we love your wonderful country - if there is such a thing as re-incarnation then we would both choose to be born in France!

To round this off, we had an enjoyable end of trip. We stayed with friends for a few nights in Limousin rather than on a site (we'd planned Le Creuse Nature but got their invite) and they don't dress much so it was relaxing but we did have to dress when we wandered around outside. In Burgundy we took a chalet near the medieval castle under construction 'Guedelon' (was on BBC2 - fantastic place to visit - we'd recommend this as a stop) and the whole chalet complex was virtually deserted so we tended to be slow getting dressed and even ventured around our 'garden' naked. However, the weather did take an autumnal turn so not a lot of sunbathing was possible and Sue definitely does not do cold. Then back home to the crowded British roads, warm beer and rubbish weather...still, it's home.

We had a week at Fiscalou, but the weather could have been better . Enjoyable stay and the restaurant was wonderful , we had 2 meals in there. It was lovely to sit down with Pascal(yes he is cute) and ann and family , very French . Oh the electric hookups from the trees were different , and unfortunately if you get too many Brits on with all their appliances , it trips out  . We'd positioned ourselves away from the main group and only 2 on our tree hookup , so we were ok .Pascal arranged for a group of us to go to a vineyard for a tour, and very interesting. Of course you have to buy a couple of bottles , in our case a mixed box of 12 ! We then moved further south to Cap d'Agde and met up with Derek (Sunworshipper) and other Suntreckers . We left this morning as the weather was looking wet for tuesday and further days . We had one heck of a drive , but basically motorway to a campsite (clothed) a few miles outside Chartres, 470 miles(but mainly motorway , Millau bridge gets more impressive everytime we cross it ) ! ! ! We move up to near Calais tomorrow for a couple of nights , resting and last bit of supermarket shopping , more wine .Then that is it until next year for France , but we shall be back .

Julie and Dick

It is very hard to describe the inner enjoyment of being naked .

So glad you enjoyed your stay, we hoped it would work out for the group. We will probably go back to Fiscalou...but we're really missing the holiday now, sort of planning where to go next year - not tried Cap so might put that on the list.
