I'm trying to find my way to a naturist vacation in Europe one day, but it seems daunting from where I sit here in the states... I'm hoping to get away from "clothing optional," if possible. My experiences in the states with "clothing optional" choices seem to pit naturists against textiles in certain situations.
Please don't be daunted. It sounds like 'clothing optional' might mean something else in the States, but here in Europe, if a resort is 'clothing optional', that effectively means that naturism is the norm, apart from most places have a silly rule about having to dress to shop or eat in a restaurant (don't ask me why).
For some reason, many European naturists also develop an urge to dress (and even dress up) in the evenings, but apart from in shops and restaurants, whether you are nude elsewhere depends on whether you are comfortable with being in the minority. I was."
Whilst in principle it may seem silly rule to you and other people, that there are people who wish to wear some sort of clothing cover especially in restaurants, other people may be more sensitive to the prospect of, when sitting down eating having someone's genitals pass by about a foot from their face as they pass between tables.
I have personally even had a person's rear end within inches of the side of my face when they bent down to retrieve something from the floor. Not an altogether pretty sight!
IMHO as a general rule, genitals and food do not go well together.
Other than that, each to his own.
Koversada in Croatia could be another option. 🙂
Koversada is directly across a river estuary from Valalta. We didn't go inside there, but felt we made the right choice in going to Valalta because it is within easy (even easy cycling) reach of the charming town of Rovinj, which we visited many times. Because of the estuary, Koversada is a significantly longer car journey away from Roving, or a long and hilly cycle ride.
We visited Koversada for a day three years ago and thought it very basic compared to Valalta. It has had nowhere near the same level of investment. The sea and beach area near the modern campsite side is really nice. However, the approach through various blocks of undeterminate age is a bit grim and the supermarket was a throwback to Communist days. The Valalta supermarket is fantastic, better than the ones in town, with on site bakery, brewery and vineyard.

Not sure, sorry.
Plenty of water sports stuff to rent. Paddle boarding seemed to be the thing this year.

I'm looking for it since a lot but I fear it is no more there. We are sorry because it was one of the few opportunities to put together our two preferred activites, going nude directly to the boat. And it was great to have a full day nude cruise with a couple of dives on the wonderful wrecks around

I'm a diver and this sounds like my cup of tea...
By the way I have just remembered that the marina was advertising a taxi boat service to Koversada across the Lim Fjord which I don't recall seeing three years ago. About twenty quid which I assume includes the day visit fee. Not worth it for us of course when we had to pay to get into Valalta, but obviously of use to those on the site wanting a change of scene. We got to Koversada in Aug three years ago when there were more buses running at a later time to Vrsar but as posted above didn't feel a desire to return.
Also, when going on the fish picnic excursion, we were let off the day visit fees which had been the case before. The boat left at 11 and returned about half four. The main reception phoned the small reception at the gate to clarify that when selling us the tickets (£25 for info) and we just had to wave them on arrival to get passed through.

AleLid, I checked the very detailed map of the complex, and there is no mention of a dive shop, unfortunately.

I visited Valalta some years ago for the day by boat while staying at Koversada paying a small entrance fee.I felt i had made the right decision for me enjoying it,s facilities and the small town of Vsar nearby.
