Watch out for the squirrels

However when walking through the woods look out for baby squirrels falling from the trees. One dropped in front of us, paniced and climbed up my leg and stayed there for 10 minutes. A lady photographer was so impressed that she squatted down to take a photo but missed the fact that a nettle was growing with unfortunate consequences - ouch.

Be warned they have sharp claws

;D  That's certainly something to bear in mind!

Lisa Love Barry I'm a life long Naturist so the closure would effect me. This campaign is to get the perverts and paedophiles removed. As for reporting it to the police we've been down that road and they take no interest. The Estate do what they can but I feel temporary closure of the Beach along with local media interest will c...hase these people away.
She posted that on 23 July.
The main reason I have never tried to get my wife to go to a c/o beach in this country is the worry about pervs.

oh i see so she is on our side then and i`m all for getting these people off the beach good on her for that . the single guys that do these things make life hard for us that mind our own business it also means that as much as i`d like to talk to people on the beach as a single guy it is frightening to even approach people for an innocent chat because you feel you are being judged or not trusted  . so i tend to stay away from people at the beach

I fear that a campaign to close the beach does not send out the right signals. It may solve the problem temporarily, but it will make it very difficult to re-open it again, for why should that not just bring the undesirables back? Why are the police not interested if crimes are being committed? What excuses have they for not acting on reports of illegal acts or of people being approached with improper suggestions? I think the the right way forward is to supervise the beach and enforce the rules, drive the pests away and encourage more naturists who just want to sunbathe and swim.

Cheers,
nib

We go there regularly, being a grizzly old Aussie, the dune creatures now tend to give Anya and I wide berth, having "already got to know me". If any couples or single ladies fancy coming with us/ meeting us there don't hesitate to get in touch. Lets keep using the beach and rid the place of this infestation. The police wont, they just drive along in their 4x4, just like trafic cops.

I just checked out their facebook page, such a "strong" campaigne and only 31 members !!!
There are one or two observations. Some of which may be a bit abrasive, but please think about it.
The organiser states that she will not be swayed no matter what the argument--hardly rational., bit " I'm right or I will stamp my feet"--silly little girl
The main contributor, works for Norfolk Police! We all pay our taxes, maybe not all in Norfolk. But WE are all entitled to proper policing. Or is it easier just to close it ?
Perhaps her workmates should get off their backsides and stop poluting the atmosphere with their 4x4 and walk through the dunes. Not just drive by once in each direction a fair way off the dunes. If she is a naturist, get a few brownie points, get some workmates a get an undercover operation going.
One of her posts reads, I got back to my car and cried. Maybe not a police officer, well I hope hot because a nervous breakdown on top of a REAL disaster would turn the whole thing into a crisis if you know what I meen.
I see one other member is a bi guy fram Canada--bet the beach closure would realy effect him.
At least two other members are members on here or BN
One guy who contributed seems to be able to take care of himself.
Doesn't leave her with many members after a lot of campaining does it?
As I said, silly little girl, frustrated do gooder, bored housewife with too much money, spoiled brat--you tell me.
I for one will be using the beach with Anya, if the weather is good on Sunday--we will be there and if she harrases me with her bits of paper, I could well stick it where she thinks the sun shines out of.

At least 10 of the 31 members of the Facebook group are BN members, among them several BN officers and the Commercial Manager, so not supportive of the closure but sympathetic to the problems. I wonder how many of the antis are actually anti-naturist.

I wasn't able to get to the BN beach day there last Sunday, but I gather that BN spoke to the police and the owner and got the impression that there is no risk to the beach.

Is the situation as bad as the group claims? I have been there only on a BN beach day and there were so many decent people there that the pests would not have survived!

Cheers,
nib

To be honest, the problem has got worse. We couldn't go at all last year as I was being treated for cancer. One thing I realy looked forward to, and kept me going was the thought of going to Holkham again.
The actions of the geeks in the dunes has got more brazen. They go onto the beach now, something they didn't do before. As I said in a previous post, we in our 2010 innocence sheltered from the wind on our first visit this year. We were apprached by a dune creature and we moved onto the beach. We were persued there by him, but a bit of "Aussie charm" sorted that and we are now given a wide berth. I find the claims of single ladies plausible, the claims of the young lady who "cried in the car", and is so scathing of the police ( maybe she should be) and claims in her profile to work for the police. She was alledgedly accompanied by her boyfriend, they went into the dunes to see two males performing oral sex ? a fat lady surrounded by men ? This was after a dune creature had enquired about her body hair ! She must have been either stupid, on a sexual trip or be reading too many top shelf mags.
My advice, if you go there, avoid the dunes, you dont have to go to the beach via the dunes, walk along the beach to them. Set up away from the dunes and if you are not confident, set up near a couple and make them aware of you concerns.
Life shouldn't be like it is, but it is.
I am about to write to Lisa Love on facebook and will ask her if "a sexual deviants was seen in or around a school in Norfolk, would she close all of the schools in Norfolk"
I think it is time we as naturists, nudists stood up an were counted. Demand that the police take a more active approach and jointly help them rid this beautiful place of this scurge.
The offer we made for ladies or couples to come with us/meet us there still stands and to date we have been contacted by two single ladies and a couple.

Not sure if Andy or Anya wrote the last post, but well said.

I too read the facebook entry, but was not entirely convinced by the manner in which it was written.

For all sorts of reasons that made me extremely grumpy, I was unable to go to either the maze event , nor the BN event day at Holkham.  Maybe we should start organising some events of our own at this, and other beaches/venues around the country, to highlight the need for more understanding.

I still think that many of the problems are caused by these venues being 'out of the way' and many of us users being inherently secretive about our pastime.

i was given a reply further up this thread that led me to believe that the creator of the facebook page wasn`t against naturism but against the creatures in the dunes (i`ve stolen a good phrase used by Andy and Anya ) but reading the latest post on the facebook page it seems that isn`t the case she seems determined to ban all naturists from this beach full stop . This is wrong and something else should be done to remove these creatures from the area ! They give genuine naturists a bad name and especially us single males who would like to enjoy the beach too . As i said further up the thread as a single male i feel i`m being judged or not trusted if i were to try to have an innocent chat to people on the beach so i tend to isolate myself from others on the beach which makes the experience far less enjoyable for me as i love to socialise and chat to people but feel i can`t in that situation . The result is that i tend to not bother going at all .   Rich

Well said Rich
A friend of hours (male) was realy interested in naturism. He said he will still go to Holkham , but only with us as he doesn't want to be seen as a pervert--just because he is a single male.
Now the dune creatures and Lisa Love between them have game set and match. Single ladies dare not go, couples are aprehensive and single guys feel they will be grouped with the idiots.
I might be old and bolchy with these cretins, but I think the oonly people who can sort it out are the Police---isn't that what we pay them for???
