Hi Joy & Jon, our memories of Morfa are of a good, long, sunny beach, but it can get very windswept and it's quite a long walk from the nearest car park. We had some lovely times there though, and there may even be a car park that's nearer now. Hope you enjoy it there, let us know how you get on.

The nearest public carpark is next to Benar Beach campsite (which has a naturist section!)  or you can pay to leave your car at the big caravan park slightly to the north of Benar Beach carpark and then walk North.
You can also park on Shell Island and then walk South after paying for the day visit pass.
All walks from these parking places are along the textile beach until you get to the naturist signs.
The naturist beach is about one mile from all spots.
Fantastic place, especially if there is little wind.
Ther are always a few meercats in the dunes but you can choose your spot to avoid prying eyes, or simply ignore them.
The southern end is generally the more populated.

We have been there a few times now but depends on the weather !! its a great beach but recommend a wind break and a sun shelter. it helps with the wind and you can block out any meerkats from behind.  Next time we are planning on camping for a night so breaks the 2hr journey from the mids.

We are going in July went last year but as you say very windy on the day we visited you could hardly stand on the beach but well sheltered in the dunes the only problem was all the rubbish cans and bottles which have been left behind

Most enjoyable, relaxing beach, hence several visits last year. As the posts say it can get windy. It's a lovely clean beach, cleaner than the textiles beach if approaching from Benar Beach.  If you're lucky you may get treated to a 'display' from RAF Valley. Must say that I didn't really notice the meerkats, I was to busy relaxing and enjoying my time on the beach.

Morfa is our favourite UK beach, you can park by Benar Beach Campsite and go across the boardwalk to the textile beach then walk about a mile north to the naturist section, alternatively you can park in the Dyffryn Seaside Estate Car Park which is a little closer but they do charge for parking in the holiday season. Most families / couples are at the southern end of the naturist section, further along is frequented by gays / single males. Yes there are some meerkats around but as in previous posts take a windbreak & sunshade and you wont notice them.

If you like your naturist beach a little quieter, and without meercats, try the main beach at Harlech.  Park at the main beach car park down the road past the school and take the north path to the beach.  Once at the beach walk north, how far depends on the season but it's usually only 10 minutes or so before you can strip off.  You'll be almost on your own, or with a few other naked souls (probably us) and can walk for a couple of miles further if you want.

We would also recommend Harlech beach. When we used to live nearby (Talsarnau) this was w regular haunt of ours. As Sue says once on the beach walk north for ten to fifteen minutes and even on a busy Sunday you will have left the crowds behind.
We used to go up to the top of the first row of dunes and find a sandy hollow amongst the grass, heaven!
