We spent a great day at Leysdown yesterday (Sun 4th july), the beach got very busy early afternoon, the dunes were packed with folks trying to get out of the keen SW wind, its great to see a large percentage of couples of all ages, several families and some different languages being spoken, there was a large group of Poles and a few Dutch.
The sea was very warm when it came in over the hot sands and we had a very pleasant swim late afternoon, we even bumped into some friends we know from kids football teams, there was a few awkward moments when we recognised each other, that did not last long and we all had a good laugh about meeting like this, and sat for sometime chatting about naturism, its good to know that you have friends that like to get ther kit off as well.
Why can't we have more beaches like this?
Lets hope the summer is as good as yesterday.

Hi not far from you guys (Lordswood in Chatham). Was at Leysdown a few days ago and it was empty. Think I would die if I met anyone I knew lol.
On this subject, would anyone care to comment about how this beach compares to Holkham (only other one I've been to in the uk). Leysdown is a similer distance from me, so am tempted to give it a try next year - although Holkham is very good...
Hi Chris - it might have been sometime since you asked your question but I'll try to give you an answer.
I've been to Holkham once on a BN beach- weather and company were great and it's the best UK naturist beach I've yet been to (not made Studland as yet).
Leysdown is very different, so it will depend on what you like. I generally get there 4-6 times a year. The scenery is no where near as good and it's pretty small. Swimming is good when the tide is in (safe I think) but impossible once the tide goes out (a long way). There are no facilities on the beach and a short drive back into the town is needed. Parking is right next to the beach, so only a minute walk back to the car (once you've braved to unmade road). It's pretty quite on week days but can be busy at the weekend if its really good weather. Finally there is a good crowd of regulars who are freindly if you like to have a chat.
Hope that helps - happy to answer any questions
Keith
Hi, we had our first to a naturist beach and it was at Leysdown. We enjoyed the beach, the weather was good and the people was cool. No one was pushy and my missus enjoyed see people walking about all comfortable. It made us feel comfortable. There was one small problem that we didn't know how to resolve though and that was how do girls pee on a beach with no toilets? Obviously its easier for blokes but not so for girls.
thx Twig n Boobies
Lol Good question!!! crossed legs is the answer i think!!!!
I was at letysodwn today and a few people around, was anybody from here there?
We was there for a while today, it got cloudy and a bit chilly so we left a bit early and on the way home we drove through a light shower. It was a shame the weather changed cos we were having fun, met very pleasant couple today. Hope to be back soon.
I'll be flayed for this but the answer to the question is to wade out into the sea to the waist and stare casually at a landmark while splashing water....
Anyway, it's all water. ;D

Hi Twigs, I also left at about the time the big cloud came over!!!
Shame as was lovely before that
We are hoping the weather holds out on Monday for Leysdown because we both have a day off work. I was sunning myself in the garden today well until early afternoon until I had to go to work. At least we got a hobby to share we just need to find time to do it together.

We visited Leysdown today the weather was o,k bright and not to chilly, we both stripped off anyway. just after we left the clouds broke. Still it was a good afternoon anyway.
We finally made it to Leysdown beach on Wednesday afternoon. We met up with some naturist friends who were staying at a camp site in the area and spent a lovely few hours with them on the beach before returning to their camp site for a nice relaxing evening.
Will give our views etc in our next blog update.
Here's a pic of cas on the beach.
