We may get here next week.
Two questions though......do you have to walk down to Strete Gate and then walk North East along the shingle to get to Pilchard Cove (naturist beach), or is there a shorter route?
Is the routine to just turn up and park up, or is it necessary to phone in advance??

Just to update this thread......I got to Manor farm and it is well worth a visit. (although the weather was c*ap)

As an addition, the pub in the village is quite good. Hoegaarden and Leffe on pump. draught real ale and the seafood on the menu looked delicious.
Be prepared to spend £10 for Fish'n chips to about £16 for a bloomin great big, whole, locally caught crab. 😀
There are certificates from AA and Michelin etc on the walls! ::)

I too was at manor Farm this week and once again the naturist side was more popular than the textile.

Sadly none of the above mentioned alterations to the site had taken place but from what I gather this is due to an ongoing and protracted application with the local planning authority.

Nevertheless, it is still a great site, good facilities and with many seasonal pitches and a number of ad hoc visitors. The local area is stunning and as amberambler has mentioned, the local hostelries are well worth a visit.

Unfortunately none has taken place. I believe Kate has fairly extensive plans to demolish the existing barn which houses the kitchen, showers etc. and replace this with a lower rise house, plus newer purpose built facilities. The problem lies with the local planners as I understand it, so it looks like Manor Farm will stay as it is for a while, which is fine by me, the facilities are perfectly adequate as far as I'm concerned.

Hi Amberambler

Yes, that was indeed me, you picke4d the worst of the weather, Monday pm and Tues am were lousy but the remainder wasn't too bad.

If it hadn't been peeing down I'd have said hello. To prove the weather was good have enclosed a pic from the couple occupying your spot the day before. They were down for the weekend and celebrated their cars' 50th birthday!
