Myself and my work friend were casually chatting one day when the subject of naturism cropped up.
We joked about visiting a nude beach one day, but neither of us gave it a second thought and both assumed the other was like I said "just joking around".

When the subject cropped up again some days later I stated with a straight face, that I thought we should visit a nude beach. Her reaction went from a big smile to a serious look of disbelief (she now knew I wasn't kidding). We chatted back and forth for days until we agreed that this was something we both wanted to experience.
We set a date to visit Holkham and agreed there was no backing out.

On the day, I picked her up and we made the long journey to the coast.

When we arrived we payed the parking fee and made our way down the lane to find a good parking spot. The weather was warming up nicely just as the forecast had predicted.

We made our along the road/track behind the beach that runs to the left of the car park. After walking for what seemed ages, we finally found the opening to the footpath down to the naturist section of the beach. After a few wrong turns we eventually found the opening to the beach and saw the "nude sunbathers" sign that confirm we had reached our destination.

We made our way along the top of the beach and set up on the embankment. I stripped down immediately but my friend was getting nervous. She eventually stripped off albeit beneath a towel. With a bit of encouragement from me along the lines of "you'll regret not doing this later" she agreed to go for a dip in the sea. We crossed the vast beach to the sea and I immediately made my way out into the water. My friend stood on the waters edge still with her towel. I swam out a little and left her to it. When I turned back, there she was slowly walking into the sea, nude. She'd done it! We both swam around and generally goofed about, chatting about what our colleagues would think if they knew what we'd spent our day doing.

After the swim and a bit of sunbathing, we made our way back to the car.

The one thing I noticed about this beach was the fact there were a lot of heads bobbing up and down and moving around in the dunes to the back of the beach. This made us feel a bit uneasy as I'm not sure exactly waht was going on back there. So my advice to anyone wanting to visit this beach would be to take a wind-break and set-up right by the sea.

Andy.

Official and traditional nude beaches which are backed by dunes unfortunately tend to attreact a breed of voyeur popularly known among naturists as "meercats."
