We have been in Cuba for our holiday, for the last two weeks.   Having done my research,  I was aware that there was only place in Cuba tolerant to nude bathing – Cayo Largo.  I knew my wife would be bored by a beach only holiday.  So, as Cayo Largo is an Island, booking there was not an option.  (I think Cayo is Spanish for Island)  In the end we decided to go to Varerdero, but take an excursion to Cayo Largo.
So we went to the tourist centre and booked our excursion.  I was slightly bothered as the main event of the trip was a visit to see some iguanas and snorkelling.  In fact – beach time seemed to be planned for only a few hours.    When we did eventually arrive at the beach, I was disappointed to see that no-one seemed to be in any hurry to bathe naked.  While I was in the bathroom I decided to go for a quick walk in search of some naturists.  It wasn’t long before I was alone, walking along a perfect empty beach.  So I took off my trunks and had a wonderful naked swim - It was great!  I walked on – after some time I could see a couple coming from the opposite direction.  I was tempted to cover up, but soon realised they were naked too.  We had a quick chat – they were a couple from Canada.
After a while I wandered back to the group.  Unfortunately, more had passed than I realised and I had been reported as missing!
I was still determined to find the real naturist beach.  So we went back to the tourist centre.  This time we were specific – we wanted ton visit the naturist beach.  We booked an overnight stay at a hotel called Sol Cayo Largo.    After we arrived we went straight to the beach.  Yet again, no one was naked!  We didn’t give up – we walked further along the beach and eventually we found the naturists.
I took off my trunks and, set for a swim, asked my wife was she was going to do. Pauline said she was just going to sit on a sun bed and read her book.  Ok, I wasn’t going to push her.  Anyway, after a few minutes she joined me, also naked, in the sea.
This was our first public naturism but won’t be the last.  I can’t understand why anyone would want to swim wearing a wet piece of material!

Hi Mandp
What did you think of the naturist section of beach?
Is it a sandy beach.
Was it far from hotel.
Was thinking of going to Cuba and staing on Cayo largo

Keep On Smiling:)

HI

It was a wonderful white sandy beach, a few stones but not many.   The hotel is split into chalets - the naturist part was right behind our's with a handy little path leading to it.  The naturists seemed to undress a the start of the beach and wander to the naturist part. No-one seemed to mind.

See our pics in the gallery...
