My first naturist swim was at about this time (1982).
On one evening I visited a swim in Staines advertised in H&E and subsequently started regularly using Tooting Bec Lido before official opening hours, paying when the kiosk opened as I left. After a couple of summers this stopped when Wandsworth Council decided to put heavy security fencing round the pool.

My wife's first nude sunbathing was in 1986 on the banks of the Loire when we were camping near Blois and I went skinny-dipping.

My first early morning nude rambles were also made on this holiday.

We had our first proper naturist beach holiday in 1987 staying at a textile camp site near Concarneau, Brittany and using the local naturist beach listed in Phil Valack’s book “Free Sun.”

At this time we started regularly camping on the South Coast near Hastings and using Fairlight Cove naturist beach but after several more textile camping holidays near nude beaches we took the next step.

Episode Three -

However our next first was at the French Côte Sauvage near Royan where we took our first naturist holiday snaps -

We had these developed by Bonusprint rather than take them into a shop.

This was followed the next year by a camping holiday at St. Cado in Britttany. The pictures from this holiday were developed at the local chemists and, for the first time,  were not always edited before being shown to our textile friends.

I must apologise for the technical quality of these pictures. They were all taken with disposable cameras as I refused to take Retinette II camera onto a beach.

Episode four -

Our next step into naturism was to have our first dedicated naturist holiday.
This was a fly-sail week on skippered classic ketch "Winnie"

It was on this trip that I had my first full 24 hours naked which included a first nude walk with my wife.

Although she started out clothed she did shed her garments on the second half for her first nude ramble.
It was on this trip that I first had other people take nude picures of me on their camera - the pictures above and below are examples.

It was also on this trip that I did my first nude snorkelling.

Episode five -

Our next two naturist holidays were apartment holidays on Paxos and Formentera respectively.
On the latter my wife took her first explicit full frontal photograph of me on a beach.

It is an interesting aside that this particular pose is normally assumed to be a self-shot by a man.

Our first true naturist camping was at the South Hants Sun Club (since closed) in the early 90s.
Following this we tried our first true naturist camping holiday at one of the camp sites in the Cèze gorge. With our usual nose for the wrong thing we chose le Ran du Chabrier, the worst of the four, which I now find has a somewhat sleazy reputation. We were either lucky or completely blind to the other activities because it did not put us off and from then on we tended to camp exclusively at naturist sites on holiday.

We also joined our first naturist swimming club in the early 90s. This was the Swansea & District Leisure Club who at the time ran a Sunday lunchtime swim at the Victoria Pool (since demolished).
When not in Wales we started having our first true naturist weekends where we would be naked from arrival on Friday to departure on Sunday or Monday. This was at the Red House near Maidstone, a real-ale pub in the Kentish countryside with naturist camping in the rear and bar service direct to the nude area.

This morning I found the first naked self-shot I took.
It was in one of the first saunas I remember having - in Beijing of all places.
It was at the time of the Clinton impeachment hearings and I was later joined by a Russian and had an interesting conversation about the strangeness of American politics.
In particular he had trouble understanding why Clinton's sexual behavious had any political significance whatsoever.

My viewing of this thread was going fine until I saw the mention of the Retinette.

A camera to drool over!

I had a Retinette many years ago and regret selling it to buy my first SLR.
