A good few years ago myself and some friends cycled to an Eco camp in the West of Ireland. It had loads of workshops and discussions on eco-friendly themes, activism, community involvement, that type of thing.

There was also a steam hut built beside a lake, which was my first public nude experience. I think I was always curious about giving nudism a try but never had the opportunity previously. I could never swim when I was younger and was hampered by bad acne on my back which I was conscious of. There was a real open minded atmosphere at the camp which really helped.

The next time after that I was on a bike trip in Ireland and we found a beautiful camping spot beside a lake. The weather was beautiful so we decided to stay there for a extra night or two (can't quite remember). I again did some nude swimming and hanging out, though none of my friends would...

A few years later I went to visit my friends in Vancouver and we visited Wreck Beach which is a class nude beach close to the city. I had always been nervous of the sea but since then I've overcome my fear and I regularly go for skinny dips in the sea now.

I've been swimming in the sea all year round the last few years now. This winter the water was particularly cold with the harsh winter we had here. 'Could only go in the sea for 2 minutes or so. But it felt so refreshing. It's also surprising how lovely the winter sun is once you can find a spot to shelter from the breeze and the sky is clear from clouds...
