We have been talking about going to a naturist beach or camp for some time now. We have done a little research, made a few notes.
This morning, with the sun shining through the bedroom window, I decided, although my partner was in work, that I would take the plunge (in more ways than one!).
I arrived at the nature reserve, about a half hour walk from the beach (according to directions) and already my heart was pounding. I was very excited, a little apprehensive and a little bit curious to see if I would actually go through with, or chicken out.
On the way down to the beach, I started to walk in my bare feet. Now this in itself is a rarity, as I have always worn shoes or trainers my whole life (I only bought flip flops last year and I am nearly 40!!).
When I got to the beach, I walked along for a while, trying to spot a good place to sit and try and see any other nudist, just to make sure I was in the right spot. I settled down and stripped off.
It was the most liberating feeling I have had for a long time, if not ever. It is amazing what the absence of one piece of clothing (usually bermuda shorts) can do. I could feel the gentle breeze all over my body and it felt great.
Next step: the sea. I tentatively sat up, looking like a meerkat, to see if anybody was coming and I proceeded to the sea front. Being on such an expanse of seashore and not seeing anybody around (apart from one other naturist) is a very pleasurable experience too, especially when you are naked. I ventured to the water's edge and by gum, it was cold, but I perservered and went in. It felt incredible not having clothes on and going for a swim (eventually!).
I started to go back to my towel, when I saw a man jogging up the beach with his dog. I quickly turned back into the water until he had gone. I rushed up to my towel and laid there, triumphant in my daring quest. I felt alive, as the sun did the job of the towel in drying me. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay long (I think I was on the beach for about an hour) and, as I made my way back to the car park, was trying to work out when I could make it to the beach again, the next time definitely bringing my partner.
Til then, if you see a very white guy with brown arms on the beach with a cheesy grin, it is probably me, so give me a wave!!!! [smiley=wave.gif]
Glad you made it to the beach and enjoyed it. It's all too easy for us old lags to realise that it may be a bit of a hurdle first time. We take the actual stripping off for granted, but never I hope the benefits.
I was at a naturist venue and as it was a bit chilly the vast majority of us were clothed. Some-one suggested a photo could taken and would anyone like to strip off. It was like a cartoon with clothes flying off in all directions.
I hope you'll soon feel completely comfortable stripping off in the right environment.
Anyhow - good on you! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Great, we remember how nervous we were first time and love these stories of others.
The key thing is to recognise your partner has not had the experience and may be even more nervous. Our advice is be encouraging and supportive but not pushy. BUT do do it together to help her.
Well done.
