We have been to cap D'agde many times and are looking for somewhere different to go preferably in Croatia. Has anyone out there got any tips. We have a motorhome. I read about a campsite on a peninsular a long time ago but cant remember where it is.

Everywhere is on a peninsula in Croatia. ;D

Have just posted a review of Valalta here if that helps.

Don't underestimate the driving time down there. Way back in the mists of time, my parents when they went to the then Yugoslavia the first time, they coached it to Porec. You could do it that way, and it was cheap. The first thing they did on arrival is book a flight back.

Have been to Valalta, well recommended and the lovely Monsena but that's textile now. Koversada remains on the to do list. There are a few around Porec. Realistically you're not going to drive much further down unless you enjoy lots of hairpin bends on the coastal magistrala road in the company of mad Italian drivers. There is no other kind.

Koversada remains on the to do list

Went there, also in the Yugoslavia days, just after the death of Tito, if I remember rightly, and it was very good then, my first experience of naturism abroad. Certainly opened my eyes to the extremely relaxed attitude of the Dutch and Germans compared to how the British were at that time.

Am not likely to get to visit Koversada as it's the wrong side of the Limski Canal.

Used to be the case (I was told) that you could take a boat across from Valalta to Koversada to have an away day but doesn't seem to be possible now, or at least not in 2007.

Thank you for your reply Brigitte. I note your point, but we have a motor home and by what you say this site seems to be restricted to tents as it does not sound like a very good road to get 26ft of camper down.

Here's the link to the camping page of Valalta. You won't have a problem..we've seen lots of hefty outfits there. The road is fine, just that it's the only one!

with croatia you simply pick an area , look at website cronatur and pick the one you want . porec / pula/ rovinj / vsar are all possible with excellent facilities that are usually spotless.
PM me if you want the good and the bad on sites in criatia.

I've stayed at Bunculuka a couple of times - it's at Baska on the south coast of Krk island. Fairly easy to get to as Rijeka airport is on the north of the same island, though a lack of buses means you either need to hire a car or get a fairly expensive taxi.

Once there, it's a small, peaceful little spot - fewer facilities than the likes of Valalta but a lovely atmosphere and good walking around the coast. The island's linked to the mainland by a bridge so you could take the motorhome there too.

Has anyone on here taken a ferry from Italy to Croatia as we'll be down in Italy in a few weeks in our (small) campervan and wondered if it could be worth a jaunt across the sea if there's a relaxed attitude to naturism?

I haven't taken one myself but I believe it's pretty easily done and it can't take too long as there were lots of daytrips to Venice from the Istria region...

Not sure about car ferries, but there's bound to be an option!

The attitude to naturism in Croatia is so relaxed as to be horizontal.

Jadrolinija have the very big ferries going across from Ancona and Bari. The website is quite informative. Don't bother looking for lifebelts in the cabins. Well, there were a couple in a drawer but we couldn't get the drawer open. Elf and Safety. Though there isn't so very much in the way of naturist resorts/centres in Dalmatia...more in the way of beaches. There is however a delightful little site on the island of Hvar called....what else.... Camp Nudist.

PM me if you want any more info on Croatia, I'm a very boring expert on the place, though I'm offline from now until Wednesday at least.
