We're planning to stop at Lake Garda for a few days in June on our way down to Puglia. As we don't know Lake Garda at all we wondered if anyone has knowledge of good campsites there, and even any tips about which are the nicest bits etc.

Looking, there doesn't seem to be any naturist sites there so we're resigned to 'textile' for the Italian leg of our trip and we'd rather put the emphasis on finding a nice site for this part of the trip as we've got three weeks naturist when we head back into France.

it won't be high season so we can hopefully turn up and stay - we're in a campervan and awning and just need electric hook up, good showers and toilets, and ideally great views/position. Oh, and we have the dog with us (well behaved dog and owners, honest!)

Any tips/places gratefully received.

We have been to Lake Garda a couple of times for sailing championships.  Its a very beautiful area with Venice and Verona not too far away.  Note that the water temperature in the north of the lake is pretty cold from melt water coming off the mountains.  The water gets progressively warmer as you travel south. We have used a couple of campsites one right at the top (north) of the lake and one near Malcesine.  Both were fairly tight but http://www.campingtonini.com/en/ has lovely views across the lake.  Opportunities for naturism will be limited but I found a few nice small beaches and rocky spots between Torbole and Malcesine best accessed by bicycle as parking is a problem on this road! You may well find other suitable places in the south of the lake.

Enjoy
