Just back from a wonderful day on the northern side of the Berwyns. Wonderful weather with just a breeze at 630 metres. I didn't see anyone once I was off the roads.

The beauty of these hill is they are not too far into Wales, just a few miles beyond Llangollen. If anyone wants to try these hills I'll gladly give some route advice, but they are serious hills so you do need appropriate walking gear and map reading skills.

That's topped up the vitamin D for today. Of to the pub now!!

Who's jealous, 2 1/2 hours out walking naked on Exmoor, starting at Robbers Bridge, really great, just a gentle breeze, and SUN.  (not really naked, walking shoes and socks on, but near enough)  😎

I take your point!!!.... should be minimal .. but being serious (what a bore)

Where I go:-
Boots - at least three season
Map & compass
First aid kit
Emergency gear
Suitable clothing for when it 'ain't OK to be naked
etc. etc.

(not really naked, walking shoes and socks on, but near enough)

I added my sun hat!! Sounds like you too had a great day out - smashing.

Davie   😎 (hope this post doesn't appear too serious!!)

Fully agree with you about what you need to take, if walking seriously, but also add drink and snacks, - (creme eggs too if you're with Running Bear)

We had some light hearted fun over them too some weeks ago.

One day I'll get round to joining you, after all I come from the County of the "bear" (and ragged staff)

Coventry part of Warwickshire, that was once upon a time!!

When Coventry joined with Warwickshire for policing in 1967 it wanted the Force to be known as the CWS - Coventry, Warwick shire & Solihull but no-one wanted it to be known as the Co-op Wholesale Society. It never mattered as both Solihull, Coventry and Sutton Coldfield ended up as part of the West Mudlands, sorry Midlands in 1974.

Shame, but Birmingham in one form or another has given me a living so I won't be too critical and I quite like Brum now, although I do love to escape.

Well I also come from Brum, and the aroma from Cadbury's used to be in the air in the mornings, when I was a lad.

🙂 I appreciate the need to provisions of course. It is necessary to wear boots a lot of the time but there's nothing better than feeling your bare feet on the earth if possible.

I went on the first SOC walk of the year from Charlbury, which is several miles N.W of Oxford on the 8th. It was a warm day for the time of year, and much in contrast with most of the weather we have had prior to that date. Twenty one of us set off, and we walked mostly naked for about 5.5hrs.

A great start to the season.
