The last SOC walk this year is on Thursday 7 October so if you've been promising yourself that you would join a walk sometime this is your last opportunity before next April.

The details in the program read as follows:

Thursday 7 October
The Missendens

This is quite a demanding walk through beautiful wooded Chiltern Hills, starting from Great Missenden and crossing the Wendover Gap at the halfway point close enough to Wendover Station for anyone who has had enough to catch a half-hourly train back to Great Missenden. It is also one of our longest walks, and can be hard going in places if the ground is muddy, but a new and drier path has been located where we ascend the Chiltern escarpment on the north side of the Wendover Gap.

As always, the walk is timed to allow folks to use off-peak trains from London and there will be cars to transfer walkers from the railway station to the start if required. There will be a meal in the pub after the walk for those who wish to stay.

If you want to come along and need details of the meeting place and time please PM me. I can't guarantee sunshine but I will promise a warm welcome and an enjoyable walk.

Hope to see some of you there.

Have fun,

Ian.[reason]Removed blue colour from italic section[/reason]

I have checked the website & see that all the walks are in central southern areas, does anyone organise any further north?

If i'd known i was going to live this long i'd have looked after myself better!

I believe that Coast and Country organise naturist walks. They have a (rather out of date) website here but you might be better off telephoning (there is a number on the site)

Have fun,

Ian.

Would have liked to join this walk, but unfortunately have to work. There will no doubt be an SSB walk shortly to make up for this disappointment.

I must admit that contacting them is on my "to do" list! Best get round to it in time for next season?
