I advise on Picasaweb by Google picasaweb.google.com. They give you 20 GB for three, and you can buy additional 20 GB for only 5 euro a year. I've seen nothing to worry about company persistence to date, nor is anything there suggesting it change in foreseen future.

You may secure your pictures in picasaweb by assigning it a long fuzzy address or by requiring a visitor to log in. And you really enjoy uploading your pics on the web if you install Google Picasa on your computer locally, as it will really become a one-click-upload matter if you do.

You may also make any of your albums public, in which  case I'm not sure how Google reacts when it finds out. I believe they do editorial review on monthly basis or so. But they are definitely more loyal to nude pictures compared to, say, Microsoft (with whom I had little dispute about that recently).

why not just put them onto a portable hard drive?
i recently bought one from Argos. 2TB and only £80.
it connects to the pc via a USB lead, and can be disconnected and put away till needed again

If buying a new hard drive do it NOW! Stocks and production went bad after the Asian floods and storms. this means that stocks have got close to running out and it may be May/June before supply catches back up with demand.
