To get to the beach, walk up through the car park behind the Foc'sle Inn (Postcode EX34 0DJ) at the back of Combe Martin beach. At the top of the car park, follow the signs for the coast path and in the direction of Hangman Hills. The walk to the beach is a good 1/2 mile in length and quite strenuous - not recommended for anyone elderly or unfit. Also, the path is narrow and, in places, slippery. Good trainers or proper walking shoes are advisable. The first part of the walk, up towards "Little Hangman" is probably the worst part - it's uphill all the way. At several points along, the path, you can see the beach below by peering over the fern undergrowth (Very Carefully!).
When you reach the top of the climb, you will find a covered resting-place (very reminiscent of a bus shelter) Follow the coastal path and you will see the hills called "Little & Great Hangman" ahead, just after you go through a gateway, the path down to the beach is on your left with the path to "Great Hangman" straight on. The pathway goes behind a wooden bench and meanders downwards. The path down to the beach is narrow and winding - proceed with great care, as it becomes quite steep and slippery in places.
I've often removed most of my clothing on the way down, apart from flip-flops or sandals, which I take off when reaching the sand at the bottom of pathway.
Hope that this will help you.
There are other routes, but for a first visit this is probably the best one to try.

Wild Pear is great little cove but the two times I've ventured down ( both in mid-summer) when on coastwalks in the area it's been to dreary to go nude, was deserted, and the tide was in so I probably haven't seen it in all it's glory - I understand there is low tide sand. Some websites give the impression that the beach is not overlooked, but almost all of it can be seen from or near the main coastpath or from Little Hangman Hill although the rocks under the latter accessable at mid/ low tide may be the exception.
As a regular user, I must disagree with some of the points re Wild Pear.
There is sand, apart from at High Tide, and as for being overlooked, the height of the Coast Path above the beach makes it difficult to clearly define who is on the beach let alone whether they are even clothed.
