More of a skinny splashing than swimming, remember a few years ago when we walked up the path running S West fro Llangower on the edge of Lake Bala.
A quiet area. There is a stream that runs down the valley that we dammed to form a shallow pool. The kids and adults enjoyed themselves on a hot day.

When younger and at university, used to enjoy camping in glens of Angus while mountaineering by day, enjoyed some skinny dips at a couple of places in Glen Clova. One I recall with some friends from USA after walking back from pub ( about 40 minute walk) we dared each other to skinny dip and 3 guys and 3 girls all stripped off and dipped in the river at Braedownie. A couple of years later I recall also going for a dip with a young lady late on warm evening farrer south near Rottal, in a deep hole on the bend of the river, we walked down stripped off and enjoyed about an hour in the warm late evening water, was early July so nights were very clear and light back then.

Can't say too much as it was not the current other half and she will read this...haha.

There are some parts of the Nantcol River down from the falls (and away from the non naturist campiste)by Llanbedr,Gwnyedd (clearly signposted with brown signs from the main turn off in Llanbedr) where we managed a skinny dip or two last week (Aug 2012) when the weather was clement. It's between Barmouth and Harlech just off the coast(only) road. Not an official place though so a small tent/windbreak might be advised. Also we went to Morfa Dyffryn Naturist part of the beach, one day it was warm enough to swim, the other was a 'shiver in our little tent' day (but oh,the views of the sea and sky)hehe.

Out here in the Els Ports Natural Park I love to go dipping in the various pools that can be found.  My favourite spot is at a place called Caramella which is situated underneath Mont Caro and is a beautiful naked walk to reach.

Druridge Bay Saturday 22nd Sept 2012.
With over 200 other hardy souls, what a great feeling to frolic in the waves en mass.

I'm not sure if a ten minute dip very late at night in Hyde Park's Serpentine counts, but I did it, so here it is. It was cold and I don't like cold water.

A couple of weeks ago I kayaked down part of the Ardeche in southern France. I took the opportunity to skinny dip half way down at  "la Plage des Templiers" a naturist campsite that had just closed for the season.  I then kayaked nude for the next couple of hours stopping occasional to swim.  Absolutely glorious and much recommended.  🙂

I was camping at Le Sabliere on the river Ceze so also some skinny dipping there but mostly a bit shallow for a decent swim.

Many many years ago I was out in the peak district with my then girlfriend, it was late on a weekday evening and we had driven up the side of Ladybower reservoir, the one the Dambusters used to practice over.
The light was failing as we walked along the edge of the lake and she remarked about fancying a swim, neither of us had costumes so we stripped of and spent a good half hour in the water.
Don't know if you can even drive up to that spot anymore but I have fond memories of the event.

Yes you can. It's actually the Derwent reservoirs you refer to.  🙂
They are ideal but bathing is not allowed as they are for drinking water.  :police:
But the dogs don't take any notice.

I found a secluded spot on the River Severn near Shrewsbury. There's a little shingle 'beach' and the water is very clear. Bushes and trees all along the bank, with nothing but farmland around, so very secluded.  Have swum there around 50 - 60 times, and the only other people I've seen have been those I invited with me.

20  years ago the River Severn was packed with fishermen. Nowadays they are all after hand fed carp on mud puddles  🙁
