I am working on a policy document for our walking Group founded in 2006. I have cribbed the following and wonder if I can have any input (pearls of wisdom) from NC walkers or just clever NCers?

Walking is an excellent natural exercise that can help you stay healthy, control your weight, keep happy, enjoy time with friends and family, learn more about your local area and even look after the environment!
The best news is almost anyone can do it, anywhere and at any time, for free! You don’t need special clothing, equipment or training. It’s easy to fit into your daily life, natural and easy on the body. Even if you’re unfit, you can start slowly and build up gradually.
Ramblers

1. To promote walking
2. To safeguard paths
3. To increase access for walkers
4. To protect the countryside
5. To educate the public
Ramblers charity aims

According to the international definition adopted by the XIV Congress of the International Naturist Federation (Agde, France, 1974), naturism is:
"a lifestyle in harmony with nature, expressed through social nudity, and characterised by self-respect of people with different opinions and of the environment."

Only critisism i can see is 1.  To promote walking
do you think that .. To promote recreational walking might sound more appealing and proffesional, what do others think?

It is always desirable to promote walking and for those who are not capable of walking for long distances there is a very good scheme "walking for health" that can be accessed on the internet. Not naturist, but there are organised weekly walks throughout the country. Just look at their site and enter your post code to find walks in your area

It looks good to me RB, not sure where but mention of appropriate footwear should be made somewhere also maybe reference to the country code  http://www.naturalengland.org.uk/ourwork/enjoying/countrysidecode/

Incidentally one thing that needs to be looked at unfortunately is insurance, One of my family is a member of a rambling club which is associated to the Ramblers Association; but are breaking away and becoming a social club that walks occasionally rather than pay the horrendous fees.  They have been in the RA since the mid 70's never made a claim and are not able to justify the fees.

If you are wrapped up in yourself, then you are overdressed!

I am quite open to meeting other folks at organised nude venues that are within my reach financially and socially.

Interesting comment about appropriate footwear which comes under the remit of appropriate clothing and spare clothes. One is not permitted to insert appropriate footwear as many of our barefoot walkers would classify this as prejudice. Need I say appropriate clothing has also been deleted.
I am secretary of my local Ramblers Group and run the SSB alongside this 🙂 and have been running for over 6 years.
smoothyycpl mentioned recreational walking. Unfortunately the words are almost set in stone having been formulated as an official statement. I can see recearational being defined and the Ramblers are currently debating the terms "mountaineer and political walker". Some walkers walk as a challenge and the other extreme is those who do not walk but just like to be with nice people. A tiered membership was proposed but the final decision being "attempt to cover all walks for all types of people". ....and of course running naturist walks would come under the remit of 'diversity' offerings 🙂 The Ramblers are not covering the diverse nature of Rambling if they do not offer naturist walking 🙂
