Anyone else witnessed anything strange on or very near a nude beach. Still don't know what it was all about, all of the people around me, and there were quite a few were also curious but none of us had the courage to ask.

A couple of weeks ago,I was walking towards Playa Pregons Gran naturist beach from Colonia De St Jordi (Majorca) which involves walking along Playa Pregons Petit, which is used normally by textiles.
On the way out, the beach was empty, except for a solitary male textile sunbather smoking a pipe.
"Not unusual" I hear you say, but on my return, 30 feet from him was a topless female pipe smoker!. They were the only two on the beach!
I'm a smoker myself, but it just seemed funny.
I put the pipe smoking down to there being a lot of Germans, mainly Bavarians, who use the wonderful beaches at the Eastern end of Es Trenc, who keep the pipe smoking tradition alive.

Strange thing I saw on a beach in Denmark when I was 11 (a long time ago). A pair of identical twin girls about 17 turned up near me and our family, stripped off then put one half of a bikini on each. One topless, other bottomless!  😮
It scared me for life.  😉
I have since found out that the beach is one of only two in Denmark that are textile. When I was there it was about 1/3rd nude. Including one of our Danish Scouting hosts. The daughter of the top commissioner who was about 28.  😮

Not seen anything quote that strange but it seems common practice for people to set up in beaches as close to naturist sections as they possibly can, and have no intention whatsoever of disrobing! I'm afraid I just dismiss them as meerkats.

I've seen these people too, but from what I've seen they are very often not the stereotypical single males you find in the dunes.  They are often couples, sometimes with kids.

Now I can understand people doing this on a beach like Studland which is very often just so busy (textile and naturist sections alike) and people have to go somewhere, but on the likes of Holkham and Morfa Dyffryn, which rarely get crowded and you have a fair walk from the main textile areas to the naturist section, it does seem a little strange.

Like you say it could just be someone in the couple/family with voyeuristic tendencies, or perhaps someone using it as a way of persuading spouse (and kids) to give it a try.  Who knows..?

Or it could be because the naturist area is friendlier and more trustworthy.  🙂

When we visited Haulover Beach in Florida, it was packed. Either side was deserted apart from about 4 or 5 people in the distance. However about 8 college girls set up near us and kept bikinis on. They were almost the only textiles in hundreds of naturists. When someone asked them why they came to the naturist section, their reply was that we feel safe here and we don't get stared at all day long!  😮 🙂
