Been a while since I've posted, so thought I'd add these pics I took from wet and wild North Pembrokeshire last week. I'm staying true to my promise of a naked swim in the sea every month this year, although it's certainly a lot easier at this time of year...
Tucked away well off the beaten track between Dinas and Newport, I managed a naked swim here ( Aber Rhigian ) every morning, even in the most vile weather. Being north facing, it remained totally sheltered even when the (southerly) wind was blowing a near gale. You'll have to take my word for it, but it's beautifully clear and blue when the sun pops out. 😉
Access is a twenty minute walk from the road, down a hidden valley with waterfall. Also accessible from the coast path between Cwm Yr Eglyws and Newport - this means a steady trickle of walkers, especialy on a nice day, but I didn't encounter anyone at all during my swims which were mostly before 9 a.m.
What a lovely remote spot. Thanks for uploading your pics. Flickr & Geograph also have a some good shots of this beach & surrounding area.
Looks wonderful. I did a 'swim once a month' thing off the Welsh coast in 2009. February was the worst ! November and December weren't too bad. Good luck with it.
Great spot! have you any pics of the waterfalls? love to see them.
i dream of standing clothesfree under one bliss
feel free to be free, swimming clothes free it has to be
Here's the waterfall - more of a sit in rather than stand under. It was raining heavily one day, so I stripped off and sat in it for a while.
thx that looks cool even if you can only sit in it a must i think, if not lie in it
(its running water i love it) again thx! 8) 8)
