We are going to Majorca for 2nd half of October and will be visiting
Pregons Gran beach (between Colonia deSant Jordi and Es Trenc beach)
and Sa Cala Mesquida beach.

We do love Fuerteventura beaches but find the island itself is a bit boring, so we are hoping for some  8)  [glow=red,2,300]nice weather[/glow] 8) in the Balearics.

Fingers crossed.

I will be there a week after you.
Es Trenc beach is fantastic as long as the wind is not too strong
you will have a great time.

We are staying in 3 locations.
We've been to Majorca many times before and love exploring new locations.
Es Trenc/Pregons Gran will be approx 16 -20 Oct and t'other beach 20-24 Oct.... subject to the weather being kind!

What's everyone's experience with the weather in October for Majorca /Minorca?  Have avoided then thinking that once you get to September it starts to go downhil in that part of the Medl.

Like Amberrambler, the Canaries are fine for weather but agree that the Islands are a bit boring once you've 'done' the obvious places once or twice. And we're not really beach people, just 'sun' and 'warmth' people  🙂

Re Balearics.

October certainly is the month when the weather takes a tumble temperaturewise.
Like, last week it was 28c and this week decreases by about 1c per day. It should remain 20-25c though, for us, in second half of Octobe, with night time temps about 15-19c.
The sea temps are still good for swimming though, whatever the weather does.
If you take a car, then you can usually work out where the fairer weather is and drive towards it.

We have just got back and had a great time.

Pregons Gran beach, 15 minutes easy walk from Hotel Marquesa in Colonia de St Jordi is one of the nicest naturist beaches that I have been on. Totally naturist, almost completely German but superb location, easy swimming and clean sand. There is a beach bar about halfway for a beer.

Cala Mesquida beach was also lovely but overlooked by textiles taking a walk up the well established path onto the cliffs beyond.

This is very interesting info - thank you!

I try to get to Mallorca once a year, I will certainly try my best to get to these beaches and give them a whirl.

Be next year now tho!

Thanks.

Paul.
