I am interested in your comment about Botany Bay. Have TDC passed a bylaw, or erected signs, banning Naturism on that beach. I would be interested in getting any more detail you have on this item.

Seems unlikely. To ban nudity at BB, the council would have to adopt a byelaw to that effect, and that would require a period of local consultation which would doubtless be publicised in the local press. Such a byelaw would not be in line with the government's model byelaws for the seashore and one hopes that it would not receive DCLG approval.
Of course the council could re-erect notices declaring that BB is not a naturist beach. That might deter naturists from using the beach but would have no legal effect. If that happened, BN would certainly make strenuous efforts to have the misleading notices removed.
Maybe the KSER regional rep can shed some light on what is happening.

Basically they use the usual "under consideration" but of course refuse to provide any more details.
They have the Men in Blue patrol and ask you to cover up, as it can be overlooked. If you refuse they will haul you off under "public indecency". How true that is I do not really want to go to court to find out.

Can I have your permission to forward this email exchange to the appropriate BN people for their consideration?
They may be able to resolve this in our favour before next summer.
In the meantime the legal status is that the beach is certainly a traditional beach which has been used naked by naturists this summer.
As such no naturist behaving in a proper fashion has anything to fear from the law.

Hi I have used that beach many times but this year definately textile when i went about 6 weeks ago

Like most beaches there is what is accepted as the textile area and an area which is not formally nudist but is tolerated as such. The main area (Ramsgate end) is textile and used by families through the summer. A 10 minute walk (Margate end) takes you to the nudist section. Never overly busy, sunbathers are seen in the dunes or just on the edge of such and have never caused any issues in my time of visiting the beach.
