My wife and I have been married and holidayed together for well over a quarter of a century - always clothed - always with the kids. I love walking on the beach and many times have walked through / past naturist areas wondering what it would be like and if it was for me. In 2009 we were in our camper van on the Gironde at Lacanau with my youngest daughter. Every day there were lots of naturists at the beach and my 16 yr old mocked them mercilessly. She flew home after a week and I determined to find out if naturism was for me. we went back to the coast and I engineered us always onto the naturist sections saying to my wife "we are the odd ones out here" after a couple of days I said "I'm going to loose the shorts today" and did. she did nothing but laugh - looking at me all brown with a big white patch I would too. For me it was a revelation, I felt free, comfortable and quite at one with myself more so than any time I can remember. We met some lovely British naturist motorhomers who were very supportive and for me made it easier as I wasn't on my own. My wife gaduated to removing her top and then eventually her bikini bottoms "only lying down" through the rest of the holiday. We now go back every year.

If you have thought about naturism, just do it, this year. I wish I had years and years ago. Don't think I will ever pluck up the courage to tell the mother in law though  😀

Great Story 🙂

Hazel and myself were very much the same and we just said lets do it and have never looked back since.

I spend most of the day in my home office naked and Hazel strips off as soon as she comes in. Its a lifestyle now.
We have told the sister in law but not the rest of the kids lol

Good Luck

We thought my mother in law would freak out but when I went to Croatia on my own to attend the World Naturist Congress as the BN delegate we had to say something. My wife just told her and she has been fine, even positively curious. The moral is that the reality is nothing like the assumption.  🙂

My mother in law stayed with us one Xmas and as normal I didn't wear any clothes when I was in the study. She came in and asked if there was a chance of a cup of tea . No problem , I took her tea in bed and I was naked as ever when I did. "Haven't had a naked man in my bedroom in a long time " she said . However she and the rest of the family knew we were naturists anyway , so wasn't a big deal.

Dick

It is very hard to describe the inner enjoyment of being naked .

First time as an adult? Excluding the skinny dipping in student days and the sharing of dressing rooms and showers as a sportsman, I think the first time I flung off my clothes and ran into the sea was on the way back from Madrid one late August day when, hot and exhausted from driving I felt a great need to freshen up, just north of Biarritz. I parked amongst some pines, left my clothes on a seemingly empty beach and threw myself into the Atlantic - which was pretty cold even for late summer and it wasn't long before I wanted to get out. However, I saw a family walking along in the distance, parents and and two children aged about ten and twelve, and so stood shivering up to my waste with the thought that they might take fright at the sight of a naked man striding out of the waves ... but I hadn't counted on their dog, a fully grown English sheepdog, just like in the Dulux ad, seeing me first, and he came bounding along towards me and into the water! It was then that I realised that the whole family was nude too!
You could say that the dog broke the ice, and I ventured out with it splashing around me and the owners yelling at it.
I was so amused at my own sheepishness (ha!) and the jolly reaction of the family to my plight that all shyness immediately vanished. It never returned!  🙂

It seems to be a common theme that many of us tried naturism after many years of keeping those togs on. So many of us, me included, frequently show regret at not having shed those clothes sooner. I think a restraining factor, again common in the threads is having those kids about. So many of us only really get to grips with naturism when they've flown the nest.

Are we worried what our own kith and kin will think that we are so repressed about our nudity?

I must admit that we 'didn't do' naturism when we had the kids with us on holiday, though we all used to sleep  naked, and walked around the house without clothes until our sons hit puberty and started covering up.  Interestingly, the youngest has discovered it for himself!  He went Inter-railing around Europe with  his girlfriend a couple of years ago, and they were staying near Agde.  They walked down to the beach, and found it was naturist, and just 'went for it'.  When he came home he told us about it and we said we'd been naturists for a few years.  I don't think he was surprised.

He says he'd like to buy a caravan which is for sale on the Valley Club naturist site, (www.valley-sun-club.co.uk) where we have a caravan, but wouldn't want to go there when we're there - at least not yet!  However, there are lots of members whose adult children are now members too!

Like many of you, we began our nude journey in our late 50,s.  Bit sad but its better to have begun than not at all.  Keep on keeping on and enjoy the lifestyle.

Our involvement with naturism actually began with the children.
We were on a small Cornish beach with our two small boys, who were playing on the sand.
The youngest, about 5 kept disappearing around the rocks for a few minutes before returning.
After a few times a man walked around the rocks and approached us and said that he hoped that we did not mind, but our son kept peeping around the rocks where they,  two couples were sunbathing without clothes, novel, but not a problem for us.
If it was acceptable there, why not try it ourselves.
For many years after that we spent our holidays near Perranporth and spent days at the far end of the beach where we saw few people, but naturism was accepted.
Start with the children while young, then no problem.

I do wish I could agree with you on that statement.
Our children were brought up as naturists and we used to go on naturist holidays and belong to a club, but then our children hit puberty.
They became aware of the naked human body and suddenly it all each one didn't want anything to do with naturism.  They are now adults and the two with wives and children have insisted that nothing is ever revealed to their families about our past-time.  The youngest is a single man, thinkin g it is all a hoot and not for him, but at least his girlfriend knows.  Maybe he'll come back who knows, but definitely the other two are lost to the liberation and full joy of naturism.  Such a shame that we all have to keep our clothes on when they come out to visit us in Spain.
