We have visited Jandia for the last three years and are looking forward to going again in the autumn. Fantastic beaches washed by the Atlantic - perfect for naturism.
We are visiting jandia in the first two weeks in June for the first time any tips
dont bother with the zoo in jandia, you get a ticket that allows you back every day for a week! we went once for about 10 mins!
the shops are very german orientated as are the bars and restaurants. there is one british bar that we found, walk up to the lighthouse and straight accross the road is a fun arcade, the british bar is above it, a nice cold pint of cider was too good to turn down! as you start through the shops there is a pizza place with tables outside ( i forget the name right now but will look it up later, well worth a visit though, and good value.
have a hunt around the shops they are all different prices for the same thing! also there is a market twice a week, mostly sunglasses and bags etc, but well worth a look. there are chipmunks on the beach and parrots flying freely about, and the beach! well just wait till you see it.
enjoy your trip
thanks for the tips Allan
just looked it up! the pizza place is called la isla, its really nice
Thanks again mate top man

Whatever you do don't just base yourself in Jandia, although there are great restaurants there - La Isla is nice as is Olimpico and a few others. The real gems are in neighbouring Morro Jable about 15 mins walk along the prom. I can recommend La Gaviotas (owned by a Dane and Spanish wife) with fresh fish from the harbour every day and Il Mattarello (Italian). The bars are mostly German orientated but eveyone is friendly. In fact the best steakhouse is Stetson Steakhouse (German owned - they speak brilliant English, as most German's do) - well worth a visit. This is in the Cosmo Centre. Also pay a visit to Miami Beach Bar owned by Jose`.
Jandia beach is massive and can be a bit exposed if the wind picks up. I recommend car hire (from the airport we go for) and explore the whole of the Jandia Peninsula - many out of this world beaches - all nude.
Enjoy
Jandia is the first place my wife and I tried public naturism. We have been back 4 times now.
We love the beaches there (probably second only to Jamaica), If you head left from the lighthouse about half a mile you come to a headland, walk around the rocks or around the road to Esquinzo beach, There is a beach bar and due to the cliffs the beach is much more sheltered from the wind.
If you are hiring a car and fancy a trip to Costa Calma (about 20 km) I would recommend Esmerelda (Beach) in front of the Esmerelda hotel or the next cove along to the south (Canada Del Rio).
Risco Del Paso always looks good on Google Earth but I have yet to see it when the tide is in.
It is well worth spending 15 Euro's buyong a Beach Shelter/windbreak.
If you fancy a long naked stroll it is possible to walk along the beach from Morro Jable to Costa Calma (around 16 Miles) and around 40% of the people you encounter will be naturist, Mainly German but they can be nice if you take the time to talk to them. You usually have to break the ice because they think we dont like them, (Their English is usually far better than our German).
Jandia is a fairly quite place with not much night life and is very un-commercial, but thats just the way we like it.
Hi All,
we are off to jandia in August, any tips?
thanks
Thanks for this useful info , we are going end of June
Hi hernbaycpl , you've made a good choice going to Jandia . All the beaches down there are wonderful . Long walks possible as previously mentioned . Car hire is cheap and well worth it . A trip to Cofete beach is a must . Driving there is easy , the road is rough but perfectly doable in an ordinary car . No insurance though if you are off tarmac . Most of the restaurants are pretty good . Morro jable has a nice promenade with plenty of places for a quiet drink and bite to eat . You must seek out the Arena cocktail bar in the centre of morro . Best long island iced tea ever . Epic . All drinks 5 euros , all with tasty snacks and wonderful service . Be careful though they are very strong . Learning a bit of german would be useful as it is very much a german resort . Dont expect sky sports , pie and chips , kareoke and bingo . There isn't any , thank god . Have a wonderful time out there .
A planned life can only be endured .
Thanks cymronoeth
My German is very rusty, but passable (zwei große Bier bitte) ;D
We are all inclusive and so other than walking and going out 1 night per week most of the time will be spent round the pool (i have a marketing plan to write while i am away, the joys of running your own business).
And peace and quiet and decent food and no sky sports is exactley what we want.
Marketing plan ?!?! Whilst on holiday !! That is proper dedication to the cause . I take it you wont be hiring a car if all inclusive , but if you do avoid gold car . Bunch of crooks .
A planned life can only be endured .
no the game plan is to do no driving for the 2 weeks. not realyl dedicated to the casue just a perfect time to do it, peace and quiet and no mobile phone!!
cant wait now, hope it will be scorchio!!!!
