We're thinking of having a few days at Tara Club at the beginning of April. Has anyone from here been ?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi

The Tara Club is a couple of miles north of Chipping Sodbury / Yate in South Gloucestershire. They accept non-members on naturist camping holidays during their season (but not I believe for day visits). I have arranged to stay there for part of each week during the remainder of August. I'm working in Bristol at the moment, and I asked whether they would consider me staying with them while I did so - and am very pleased that they agreed.

The site is secured with electric gates, and is excellent in every way. I can do nothing but recommend it. The owners Hilary and Alan were most welcoming on arrival and explained all the facilities at your disposal and the rules you're expected to follow. Basically, the rules are the same common-sense ones you'll all be familiar with - concerned with consideration for others, site safety and so on. You might need to be aware that they don't allow pets on site though.

The facilities are very good, with miniten courts, a pitch-and-putt green, and boules facilities. There's a good outdoor swimming pool for those really hot sunny days (or for the brave on cold days), and a smaller but usefully-sized heated indoor pool too. They have an electrically-heated sauna which is available on Wednesday evenings, and I believe at other times too by special arrangement.

The toilet and shower block is quite new and, like everything else on the site, is exceptionally clean and well cared-for. The grounds are attractive and carefully tended throughout, and there's a rougher woodland walk around the inside perimeter of the site too. For anyone wishing to go jogging, I can't recommend the woodland path as it is a little too wild and rugged for running, but it's great for a walk and is about a half mile in length. Watch your step as you follow the clearly identifiable path on the way round.

The Tara Club is a naturist club, and you can expect to see regular members as well as transient naturist visitors. The welcome I've received is warm from all quarters and I can sincerely recommend this site to anyone wishing to visit the area.

See you there!

Dex

Tara is non naturist now. Long story but after trying to sell the site the owners have moved towards making it more reidential based and are not taking any bookings for any sort of stay now.

If you listen carefully you can hear the sound of a foot being shot.

What's so funny about peace, love and understanding?
