I am quite annoyed I was planning on going to the beach this summer but now I can't well not nude anyway.

They should just ban everyone from the dunes that would solve their problem, put a big fence around it but keep the beach naturist as I don't believe that people would be that stupid to have sex on the open beach.

You are correct. There has not been any inappropriate behaviour on the beach itself.

Let's all look on the positive side -
Unless there is a specific bylaw stating that nudity is not permitted then naturism is not an offence!!! Let's keep enjoying naturism (within the law) on the beach.

re Signage (Naked Wombat) - the area you refer to is very small compared to Holkham, but that said the general (usual) access to Holkham is always from the south - north - so very clera signs not just stating - nudist area ( as at present) - but acceptable behaviour (al la swimming pool) I think may have made a different especially if the dunes to 'policed'. But I guess that's all to late now - so another area closed due to swingers and gays.

Has anyone yet been to Holkham since the ban. Thinking of going tomorrow for a look see. This weather is too good to waste.

Wife and I have not been since. It would be interesting to know what the situation is like there now : people still being nude? numbers etc. Look forward to seeing an update from you - and thanks.

Just back from Holkham. As expected the beach was busy but sadly there was only a handful of brave naturist souls who had ignored or had been unaware of the ban. Those I spoke to were determined to continue coming to the beach though the wardens were patrolling periodically.

" though the wardens were patrolling periodically." :police:

Presumably more so now to keep the natutrists away than they ever did previously to keep the perverts away!

I dont remember seeing wardens at all during my visits over the last couple of years.

But did you see them taking action against anyone?

No Larry I didn't. Everyone covered up when they were seen which was a pain, in fact it felt like the wardens were the odd ones!!

I only used to see the Wardens usually once a day at the weekends. During the week rarely. You can see them coming from a mile off in their 4x4.
I reckon the doggers will still use the dunes and the naturists will still unofficially use the beach for nude sunbathing.

Was the former naturist section mainly textiles?

Being such a big, wide, open beach I may be inclined to settle down further west along the beach which is usually empty.

Might this have a bearing on the 'naturist problem' ?

This is horrible. "Everyone covered up when they were seen..." as if they were doing something wrong! This really can't remain the situation.
