Will try tomorrow the beach, and see how the weather behaves
A good beach. That's where we started but you need to be aware that it is a long walk with an uphill walk on leaving.
Enjoy the day

It's where I go usually, I really like how it feels so wild and natural, yet is quite near the town of Hastings.
Currently there are not many areas of pebbles/shingle on the main beach, they got washed away during winter and spring storms, though there are more towards the east near the waterfall, but aware of rock falls in that area. There have been a few fair sized ones over recent months there, and in a few other parts of this part of coast.
The main beach at the moment is a gentle slope towards the water, a mix of sand and shingle, with none of the tidal ridges/stepped beach that were there when it was mainly pebbles. There are also a lot more exposed rocks at low tide than there were a few years ago.
The steps down to the beach also suffered some subsidence in early spring, near where the bench was for those who know it, access is still reasonable after some voluntary repairs - the council long ago gave up sorting out access.
But its still well worth going to and I've managed to enjoy quite a few great clothes free days there this year. There is more sand at low tide too, so long nude walks along the beach are very enjoyable, when the wind is less so than recently!
Going tomorrow, seems it´s going to be a hot day!!
How challenging is he access? We've not been for a cpl of summers but would like another try before autumn. Bw A and K
The access is not really any different to how its been for the last few years. As I mentioned above there has been some slumping but people of all ages and fitness levels still get there, and back up.
The last few days have seen really high tides, so the main beach yesterday only had space for about 20 people apparently. However if you know where the waterfall is to the east you can walk along there and beyond and find higher bits of beach above the tidal reach. Thats what I did yesterday and spent several hours with a few friends more or less on our own private beach, marooned until the tide dropped as the cliffs behind are steep, but they do have easily accessed lower levels just in case the tide is rough! It was a really good day, we could have been anywhere, maybe not quite a desert island, but a bit of imagination works wonders!
Sounds like a good place to go. Have to try before weather turns.
Going this coming sunday. Seems it's going to be the last warm weekend of the year, so better enjoy it
