We are going to El Portus in October any advice on the area and off-beach activities?

We will be at El Portus from 18 Sept to 3 Oct for our annual autumn holiday so we may meet up if you are there at the beginning of October.
As October is out of the main tourist season things tend to be rather quiet but they still offer scuba diving (lessons included if required) and kayak hire. The main outdoor swimming pool near the beach restaurant will be closed but the heated and covered pool near the Haciendas (apartments) will be open. There is also a gym and tennis courts available.  For full details about the venue take a look at their website at: http://elportus.com/en/   You can also take a look at their live webcam to see the current weather conditions and temperature: http://elportus.com/en/window-to-el-portus-live .  The nearby town of Cartagena is steeped in history and is also the headquarters of the Spanish Navy so there is plenty to see and do in the town - http://www.murciatoday.com/tourist-information-office-cartagena-spain_3205-a.html

We have been going to El Portus every year since 2005 and we like the place so much that we keep our caravan at the site all year round.  If you want any further information please feel free to ask and we will do our best to answer your queries.

PS.  The British Naturism Group Holiday is taking place at El Portus from 21 Sept to 5 Oct so there will be several British naturists there as well as several Brits who live there.

The nearest airport is San Javier Airport (MJV). I believe you can get a taxi from the airport to El Portus but we usually hire a car so we have never used the taxis.
